I too, had an unpleasant altercation with this bloke in changegate car park who was in the process of issuing a Parking Charge Notice to my car, but I dealt with it in a slightly different way.
I was with my sister and after he told me I could pay 60 quid on the spot, I waited till he walked away and then told my sister to go stand by his car which was parked at the entrance. I walked up to the car, brandishing 6 crispy tenners and he was out that car like Lynford Christie, his beady eyes on my money....but I walked past him and I gave the dosh to my sis and we drove home....
    Classic!! :T

THEN (this is where the fun really starts) I bought some of those serviettes that look like 10 pound notes, used them to change my granddaughters very smelly nappy, and popped them in the post to the address on the notice 1st Class...

    LOL!!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • My car might drive itself to Haworth sometime soon...

It has already found out that it can park with impunity at several sites in Southampton, and even swapped its numberplate with another car to confuse PE's cameras before...
  • i was this way last year, but when i trying to persuade the other half to hang around for their heavies to turn up didnt go down well.....

That's the trouble with that car park, you can't taunt them for months through the post, you have to do it on the spot and then it's all over!

    Are these scum still going??

Need to do a trailer with a big sign on it telling people they don't have to pay...and park it nearby.

IIRC the local traders would love to help drive these boyos out of the place...maybe they need a leaflet/poster to help visitors...

I notice that the Tour de France is wending it sway through the streets of Haworth on Saturday. I bet the owners of this car park are rubbing their hands in anticipation of all the victims they can con.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

I thought that, too. I am surprised nothing has come up on the forums.
  • Just wondering, is it safe to park in any of the other car parks in Haworth? Any problems elsewhere or is it just the changegate one that needs avoiding? Thanks :) would like to visit the Bronte Museum, but all these horror stories are putting me off!
