Some of us don't use the Book of Farce so would we need to be logged in in order to see the article? You could still provide a link by simply omitting the http://www. part or just cut and paste the text.My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -

A few comments from 2011/12. The most recent - and the only one from that year - January 2014:I've just been issued a fine today but I'm afraid the robbing !!!!!!!s aren't getting a penny.simple as that £100 for being 10 mins late
Link to police comments returns a 'Requested page not found'.
Everyone move along, nothing to see here! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

YES ... "Changegate car park, Haworth revisited. Keeper details leaked by West Yorkshire Police employee"
"The car park is run by Car Stoppers aka ex-magistrate Ted Evans and The Prankster wondered how he contacted motorists as he is not a member of a parking-related accredited trade association and so should not be able to get keeper details from the DVLA."0 -

There are many reasons why you shouldn't pay any money for tickets issued in this car park:
* The company that monitor this car park were dis-associated with the parking bodies required for parking companies to be able to look up your home address from number plates (and also to be able to take you to court for non-payment). If you have refused to pay in person and got a letter at your home address later, they have obtained your details illegally.
* The notice asks for personal cheques made payable to the car park owner despite it being issued by a Ltd company.
* The latest incarnation of the enforcement company 'Halifax Parking Services' was dissolved in Feb 2016. There was a previous note on their account that said HMRC were seizing it, also that no accounts were filed in 2015 (probably related). If you didn't break any rules or feel that you were treated unfairly, then got a ticket from this company, it means nothing, just walk away, don't give them any info or money. If a new company has popped up, post the name here so others can know.
Countless locals avoid using this car park due to the nefarious techniques used to issue tickets over the years, the sad fact is that the owner could make a decent income from locals and tourists alike if they were at least reasonable with their enforcement.
There is a council-run car park just round the corner next to the Parsonage, if you fancy a pint or meal during your visit, park in Haworth Old Hall car park, visit the pub and then Main Street. Like trains? There's a car park next to the station (and one on Gas Street) and a short walk up to the high street.
If you DO have to use Changegate don't give them a inch:
- park well within the lines
- get change before you park
- leave the ticket on the dashboard clearly visible (not stuck to windscreen),
- don't accept tickets from anyone leaving
- don't be even 1 second late returning to you car (also double check the times on the ticket before you leave).
- don't feel pressured into buying the owner's book (he often sells these from a table next to the ticket machines and excuses the need for tickets if you do). This will cost you more if you're only visiting!
It's such a shame this is the most prominent car park in the village and these issues ruin some visits and keep some visitors away.. Please don't be put off and do enjoy your visit to this lovely village.0 -

I posted on here to update about the enforcement company being dissolved by HMRC in case anyone was still getting tickets from this name, it would help anyone getting a contested notice. Also to find out if a new company is being used now.
Yes I did read quite a few of the 21 pages of detail here and thought it might help visitors planning a trip to have the common advice summed up on the last page rather than read through them all themselves. Is that OK with you?0
