From a newbie [posted on the end on an old inappropriate thread].
Pulled up on this car park Sunday 4thAug 2013, before I could get out of my car, a young lady (approx. 22 Years of Age) handed me her unexpired ticket which had 2-3 hrs left on it. Displayed it. Walked through main street then returned to car park to find a parking fine for the transfer of a parking ticket. Cost me £60 on the spot or £100 if I delayed payment. I paid the fine then thought about the circumstances and realise I had been CONNED ...SCAMMED.
The girl is part of the operation I'm sure. She had bought a 3 hr ticket and used only 25 mins.
BEWARE THIS CAR PARK IS RUN BY DODGY PRIVATE OWNERS
WHO ONLY WANT YOUR MONEY0 -
wonder how many times the 3 hour ticket was used? Watchdog, Your Money-their tricks etc come to mind. I feel an expose' coming on.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

We suspected that we had been scammed at the time (29 July '13). Your posting confirms our suspicions. Identical scenario, whilst checking prices at machine, young woman approached and offered a ticket with over two hours remaining. She had " decided not to stay". As it was pouring with rain at the time this seemed believable. We have not paid as in my previous post this is dodgy, unobtainable tel. no no proper email, PO Box, and cheques made payable to T Farnell? or even better for them cash. People need to be aware of this scam and not use this car park.0

I'm sure a call to the taxman wrt cash payments etc could start something!!
BTW anyone can find out the proper address 'behind' a PO box number.
T Farnell...probably some crony or local yokel letting them use their bank account for a few drinks.
This crew has specialised in making it impossible to take the right people to court.0 -
Exactly the same thing appears to be happening in the George Street Car Park in Wakefield.0
