I am turning in early myself too. I said to my hubby yesterday I feel unusally tired just lately. Must be my age?:o
Thanks Marshallka.;)
We understand there are lots of many patients they have to deal with, and they were going to make arrangements for a mental health nurse from an agency to look after him.
It was overheard that one of the nurses called my dad a pain in the backside....., he does tease as well though and generally had a GSOH, but I don't think they know how to take him.
I will try to have an earlier one if I can, depending on Daniel as well, as hubby sleeps through everything.
Fingers crossed.
Your age lmao :rotfl:, I think its one of those days.
Hope you manage a good night sleep as well Marshallka.:AXXXThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi All
Sorry to hear about your Dad Di. I think the problem is that they treat the patient rather than the person. Have you got a picture of your dad when he was younger showing him at work or a sport of hobby that you could leave above his bed. It may make the staff see him differently.
When Aunty Kay was in hospital last year the staff, we felt were not treating her with respect. She was a Sister on a materntiy Unit in a big hospital in London all her life and also specialised in tropical diseases. We put a picture of her above her bed with a little story about her life. It did seem to change how not only the nurses but the doctors treated her.
Anyway hope you had a good rest. Talk later.x:mad:0 -

Hi Max and thank you.:A;)
Yes that is actually a great idea in regards of a photograph.
He was the image of James Dean as well lol, and we have one there with his miners clothes on, and of course he used to play cricket as a young lad, and could have played for Wales as well, but it did not happen due to his circumstances with his family, but yes a great idea, and I bet they will look at hime differently.
He is the youngest on the ward with dementia at 68 and with others who are in their 80's and 90's.
Sorry to hear your Auntie went through something like this as well Max.
My sister from Cornwall is going to spend a few hours with him today, so I will know a little more later.
Shall keep you all posted.:A;)XXXXXThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Blimey what a day so far.......
Hubby opened the double glazed door on my head, the front part, a little swollen, okay it was an accident, but instead of me cursing I laughed.....:o think it was from shock.
Then mum rang me to tell me that one of my nephews age 11 have come down with Swine Flu, he lives in Gloucester....., don't know anything but will know more later.

Hi Pinknico hunni and thank you.:A;)
I think I am hardening to these incidents but when it comes to kids that is the hardest I think to deal with isn't it?
Unfortunately we have been told that there is a chance of my other nephews who are twins his brothers are highly likely to come out with it as well.....as the one twin is starting to become poorly as well.
I am so sorry to hear of that Pinknico, on your toes as well "ouch", hope your okay hun.XXXXXXThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Just had this reponse from the FSA regarding the fine imposed on Alliance and Leicester
Thank you for your email sent on 22 July 2009 to the Financial Services Authority (FSA) Complaints Scheme. Your email has been forwarded to the Customer Contact Centre (CCC) for a response to be issued.
Your enquiry
I understand from your email that you wish to raise concerns regarding the fine imposed to Alliance & Leicester regarding mis selling of PPI policies. You would like the FSA to comment.
Our response
I would like to thank you for taking the time to contact us about this issue.
I have attached a link to the FSA handbook and website which explains further the discount for early settlement:
http://fsahandbook.info/FSA/html/handbook/DEPP/6/7
http://www.fsa.gov.uk/Pages/doing/regulated/law/focus/discounts.shtml
How we have used your information
We welcome information about the firms we regulate which could highlight wider concerns that could affect our regulatory activities, and any information you wish to provide will be looked at by the relevant department within the FSA.
The information in your email has been passed to the team responsible for the supervision of Alliance & Leicester. How they follow up information received, whether it comes from consumers, the Ombudsman, consumer bodies or industry sources, will depend upon the risks posed to our objectives, the quality of the evidence and the seriousness of the accusations.
However, please be aware that we do not generally give you any feedback on how we have followed up the information you have given us. This is because the Financial Services and Markets Act imposes restrictions on how we can deal with confidential information that we receive. Also, if we were to tell you about an ongoing investigation it might prejudice the investigation itself. We realise this can be frustrating but would reassure you that all information is carefully considered before we decide what action, if any, we take.
The Customer Contact Centre - how we can help
If you have any future questions on financial services and products, you may find it easier to call our Consumer Helpline on 0845 606 1234 (call rates may vary). Before doing so, you can learn about the work we carry out as the point of contact for consumers in our information sheet 'The Customer Contact Centre': http://www.moneymadeclear.fsa.gov.uk/pdfs/ccc_consumer_contact_centre.pdf.
I trust this is of assistance.
Yours sincerely0 -
Hi everyone,
hope both you invalides (?) feel better soon there's bound to be a third who has an 'owie'. Fingers crossed that the boys only have a mild dose and get better soon and that it doesn't affect the rest of the family.
What a dreary day, it hasn't stopped drizzling here and we were told it was going to be quite a nice day, ahh well there's always tomorrow.
