  • Just a quick one. Today is the day that my mum comes to visit for a whole week :D so won't be online much.

Managed 3 NSD's this week so getting there slowly.

Need to sort more stuff out over the next few weeks and reduce the volume of stuff we've hanging about.

    Catch you later. xx

  • I’m back. I did try to post last week but it was impossible.

My lovely mum brought lots of goodies and treats down with her and spoilt us rotten whilst she was here.

We now have enough washing powder, fabric softener, stain remover, beer, wine, oxo cubes and loo rolls to last us at least the next 6 months and she also paid for me to have my hair cut :)

As a consequence the house looks like a bombs hit it as hardly anything got done last week.

The car taxes for both cars have arrived and DH needed an MOT on his car too. I have taken notes and put the dates in my diary so that I am aware of when they are due again and can work out some sort of arrangement so that we don’t panic next year when they are all due again.

Walking with the kids is still a working progress, DD has gone from loving it to hating it and DS has gone from hating it to loving it. Still they are getting exercise.

Managed to sell another book on Amazon, total over there is now up to £3.20 and I have £5.58 cashback to come from Quidco once it clears.

I was aiming for a few NSD’s this week but this hasn’t been possible so far, however things should calm down after today as I don’t need to buy anything.

I am keeping a close eye on the current account and I need to count up the change to see if we have enough to put in there.

My £2 pot is slowly creeping up and I now have £14 towards the storage.

Off to go and do some house work and then pick DD up.

Will update later if I can.
  • Mums are great arent they :)
  • your mum sounds fab tea - esp loving the haircut thing... things like that make a real difference to how you feel!

Your storage fund is creeping up nicely too!

Sorry for the late update but been busy…not a valid excuse I know. Did a little top up shop this morning and bought DD some more pull ups, I cannot stress how relieved I will be to see the back of them! I don’t mind washing sheets at least it doesn’t cost me as much money to do it but I’m fed up of pull ups!!!!

Oh well, today is a NSD and I didn’t make my target for the month again! I think I did have some NSD’s last week but with everything happening with my mum down I’m not too sure so can’t count them.

Yesterday the kids and I removed every single toy out of the lounge/dining room apart from three storage boxes and they are piled up in the conservatory. I have managed today to move a few upstairs to DS’s bedroom but there is still a ton of toys. Jo_R – Yes, I’m still going for the storage unit things but need to clear some space first.

I forgot to mention on Monday that my mum also brought down a load of fabric and some zips for me she still has two rolls of fabric at her flat that she couldn’t fit in her car to bring down, so as soon as I can get my bum in gear I can get on and start converting them in to scatter cushion covers and try and sell them, granted first I need an overlocker which I am too also on the look out for as cheaply as possible. I can foresee it being bought on the c.c to begin with and then paid off once I start making some money.

I have also decided that I need an e-bay month, where I just list as much as possible and hope that some sell. The car boots seem to have dried up where I am, probably because no one was making much money.

We have been naughty as well and bought a tent. A big tent. It was in the sale £145 but we figured that it would pay for itself as we will do that rather than pay £300 for a caravan at a holiday park. This wasn’t put on the c.c and I am being careful not to spend more than necessary.

Amazon sent an e-mail to say £4.91 is on its way to the bank account which is more than I thought it would be so pleasantly surprised there :)

Need to go to the market tomorrow and get some fruit and veg and that should be my shopping for the week apart from milk needs buying.

Right off to feed the kids, will update more tomorrow and I’m sorry that I’ve not been on the diaries I normally visit but after ‘relaxing’ last week I’m in a pickle this week trying to get on top of things.

EDIT: I have received an e-mail from Quidco to say that they are paying a massive amount of 4p into the bank account and that it should hit the account in the next few days :rotfl:

Sounds like a fab time with your Mum.
The tent will pay for itself like you said and good luck with selling the cushion covers and other stuff xx
  • hi purple tea - sounds like things are going well. The tent will probably work out a good investment. hope you manage to get an overlocker at a decent price. We will wait with baited breath to hear your ebay totals LOL
