That's great that you've found something very cheap that you can all do as a family...£16 for the year is fantastic.

  • Morning, not had chance to update for a few days the laptop’s broken and the desktop gets hogged by DS and DH so don’t get chance to get on it.

SH – The £16 per year is for a family pass at the local climbing centre. DH and I used to do rock climbing before DS was born and life moved on and DD was born and we ended up not going anymore. We tried DS and DD at the climbing wall last weekend and they both enjoyed it and both DH and I have caught the bug again and thus DH has resurrected the climbing gear out of the loft.

Other news, DH got paid and we are still up a creak especially now since the bank has told us that they are planning on charging us £15 a day every time we go over the planned overdraft. As if things aren’t hard enough! Oh well more NSD’s looming me thinks.

DD is still loving pre-school and can’t wait to go and DH is still not happy about all work and little play…bless him.

The shopping was delivered yesterday and another order placed yesterday for next week.

I still haven’t used the car but have walked instead when I have gone to pick the kids up from their respective places.

My mum is eager to get down here and can’t wait until Saturday, her windscreen was finally fixed yesterday and she’s done all her packing already.

Housework – That’s coming along, especially the ironing…as much as I hate doing it once I get into it I find I get it done in a short space of time. I need to sort out a box of the kids toys and get that down the charity shop ASAP as it is cluttering up the place.

NSD for me today and so far I haven’t got any money out of the bank although I did spend a bit yesterday but used the debit card.

Must get on and sort the finances out and then some ‘me’ time beckons before I get DD from pre-school.

£15 a day???!!! Is that usual? That sounds incredibly over-the-top?

    V. impressed with you having done a shop already for next week - that's something I really need to do but what I usually end up doing is rushing one through the night before LOL:o Super-organised!

Doing lots of walking is good - it's oh so easy to just hop in the car for a short journey when you could easily walk but over the month I think it's really worth the effort - being efficient with petrol can really add up.

£15 a day sounds a lot.Is there any point in getting another bank account.
  • Didn’t post yesterday as ended up with a migraine, it’s still there but not as bad.

I agree that £15 is a lot but DH won’t change banks as this is the one that he’s not had any hassle with over the years and he flatly refuses to use a building society , so plod on we will.

NSD number 5 for me today and still no money taken out of the account. Next week will be different as mum’s going to be here but with the school runs it’s very unlikely that I’ll spend much anyway.

I have been to the charity shop this morning and got rid of two bin liners full of toys that the kids have grown out of  I knew that they had a lot and still do but not quite ‘that’ much, at least now I can start and transfer some of them upstairs into the kids’ toy box that’s in DS’s room.

As for the walking…I am actually beginning to enjoy it. It was heaving down with rain the other day and DD had her wellies on when we walked to DS’s school and she went in every single puddle she could find and ever so often she would stop and pretend she was a duck! :rotfl: It was wonderful, despite getting soaked :D

I worked out that the last time I filled my car up was four weeks ago and I have just filled it up again this week; I am aiming that the petrol will last me a little while longer this time.

I need to spend some money tomorrow but am aiming for as little as possible. I need to get some beef for Sunday and get DS a new swimming cap for school and some oranges for the gin that mum’s bringing down for us. I am also going to the playgroup to meet up with a friend of mine and catch up with her, so aiming for a relatively easy day.

Need to sort finances out again and get some ‘me’ time in before I get DD.

Shes copying me ! :p I still splash in the puddles (i live in scotland and i have no shame about my collection of brightly coloured wellies)

Thats nice that your having fun with the walks, getting exercise and saving money. :money:
  • Hi tea - £15 a day sounds extortionate. Can you not get your limit raised instead? You may be able to claim back the fees anyway....

Hope you manage to make some savings somewhere in your budget so you can avoid those fees!
