Hi Tea
Our house is almost always a mess. It only stays tidy for about half an hour tops after it has been done !
Glad you and your OH have got a little treat foodwise to look forward to - we all need something! I don't envy your DH's early start either!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Morning again, I slept so heavy last night that I feel like I’ve not had any sleep.
Play group today so a NSD to be had and I am taking some food so that the DS can have something to eat with his friends later. I have promised the kids a trip to the park on the way.
Checked online banking and no surprises taken out.
Plan for today:- Park - Didn't happen
- Play group - Done and come back
- Wash up - Done
- Finish ironing - Done and put away
- Clean bathroom
- Sort dinner out
Have a good day everyone.0 -

Hi Taxi and Shaun and anybody else who lurks/posts here :hello:
Had some fantastic news – DH will have his final operation on his eye on the 2nd September, this will remove the oil and do the cataract operation then he will go back 6 weeks later to check that there is no scab and then providing that everything is hunky dory, he will be discharged
so after two years of carp: my back, his eye, DD’s lump and DS’s broken wrist we are going to go into 2010 with nothing but good things (I hope).
We have been to playgroup, we walked there and back and both kids had fun playing and a plus side...NSD
Tomorrow we are going to see my favourite SiL so that’ll be a NSD too.
I have been thinking too (yet again!) and DH and I haven’t got a contingency plan should anything major happen with the car or dentist things like that so I think that I need to rework the budget and see where we can put at least £20 away. I had a look on Hypno’s thread this morning and she was saying about Halifax online saver where you can do ‘pots’ and I think that would be ideal for us as I can then set it up for little things like that and distribute the £20 to cover things.
Right…off to do more stuff. Catch you later.0 -
Contingency plan is a good idea - I call it my 'just in case' fund LOL. Okay, so I haven't actually got one but it's in my newest SOA - unfortunately this month went a bit off with the car breaking down (ah the irony!) but it's something we're trying to do too.
Good news about DH - that must be a relief. Sounds like it's been pretty hectic with your lot - here's to 2010 with no injuries, conditions or broken bones:beer:Dealing with my debts!Currently overpaying Virgin cc -balance Jan 2010 @ 1985.65Now @ 703.63

Great news about your OH's operation.
I think the idea of little savings pots is good. Hypno is wrong on one thing tho - with Barclays you can call your savings pots different things... I have. The contingency fund is a great idea - we built one up for when I lost my job in March - it has saved the day. We were able to meet all of our payments even tho I was out of work most of the last 4.5 months. This meant that we kept all our 0% etc.... Now we are trying to pay things off again but I still intend to keep some savings.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Half way through the week and a possible NSD for me

We are off to see SiL today, so that will be good; the kids are really excited. SiL has a splash pool and DD is currently walking round clutching her Little Swimmers in case she loses them.
Tomorrow my friend is watching the kids for me so I can get the last of DD’s presents, I’m supposed to be meeting my other friend for lunch at the same time but thinking about it, I’m not sure that I’ll have time. I need to look through the Argos website again and the ELC one as there were some more bits I was going to get her and if I can reserve the Argos ones all I need to do is pick them up.
Got to put in a prescription for DH this morning too, so mustn’t forget that and I need to nip to the dump as well to get rid of DS’s broken toy garage, at least it can be recycled as it’s plastic.
Still thinking about the contingency plan and DH has an online account with ING that could be used as there's nothing in it.
Have a fabby day everyone
