    Morning Shaun,

I do hope you manage to get some sleep at some point today. I know how you feel and you have my sympathies, my DD didn't sleep for more than four hours a night and less when she was teething at least you know it's not forever.

  • Another day and part way through the week, I know we are on Wednesday as the bin men come today...how exciting!?! :D

I cancelled my Ciao account months ago as I didn’t get much time to write and rate reviews yet alone get any surveys from them to fill in and now that I have closed it they have started to send me survey invites!

DH has an appointment with the hospital on Friday morning as it appears that he may have a detached retina…Not something he’s pleased about.

I did manage to get rid of a load of baby toys and a board game that has been gathering dust since Christmas. I’ve got a lot of de-cluttering to do and no time to put it on e-bay so for the time being it’s all going to the charity shop.

    Plan for today:
    • Go and get referral letter for DH from Opticians
    • Get chewing gum for DH from Boots
    • Go to Morrisons and get bits needed
    • Think of something for dinner
The herb seeds that the kids and I planted appear to be growing so that’s a good thing, told DS he can help me transplant them to pots when they are ready.

    Morning to Shaun

Catch you all later, off to get the kids ready for school.
  • Another lovely day full of sunshine here, I think Summer has well and truly arrived :D

Managed to finish the washing off this morning just got to hang the last bit out on the line; I even washed DS’s panda bear, it was that grubby that you couldn’t see the white bits anymore, suffice to say that too is hanging by it’s ears out on the line :p

Won’t be able to update tomorrow as DH is going to the hospital with a suspected detached retina so once DS is at school, we’ll be heading straight over there.

We are going to a friends house in a little while as it’s my friends birthday, I have been fairly MSE as some of the things I got her were new and unused from a charity shop and I have a plant too which we got free from Playgroup for Easter, so I’ve really only had to buy a card and some wrapping paper.

I do however have to spend some more money today as it is DS’s class bake sale, so have to show willing and Ds will want a cake when he see’s them :)

Not much else to report at the moment, I hope everyone is having a good day.

Great news on the free washer - have you been able to pick it up yet? I know what you mean about being grateful when kids go back to school - I normally work full time and just the 3 hours extra with them after school is killing me (nevermind the Easter holiday with them we just had LOL!) There's a reason why I work.... if you know what I mean!

Hope you are having a good week!

  • PT - clever stuff on the presi front. I like the sound of that. Will have to take notes so as I can be a bit more thrifty when it comes to gifts.

Plan is to use survey reward vouchers. Currently have £20 M&S and £3 Pinecone to spend out on. No more putting it on the credit card. If my vouchers wont cover it then I am not buying it.

Hope things go okay at the hospital tomorrow.

Agree about the thrifty presents, good work there! I have OH's birthday coming up in June then DD2's in July and am thinking already so might take some tips from you!

  • Sorry that I haven’t been on and updated for a few days but last Friday didn’t quite turn out how DH and I expected it to

We went to the hospital to have DH’s eye looked at and the consultant immediately referred him to the eye hospital in London on Monday with the view of an operation. So Monday we trekked to the eye hospital and saw the medical director there that would do the operation and to cut a long story short; DH has had a giant retinal tear lasered to fix it and has been off work for the last few days.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, DS fell of a climbing frame on Saturday and fractured his wrist! :o Both DH and DS have to go back to the hospital next Tuesday to have their respective body parts seen to, to check if they are healing. DS is likely to have another cast put on after they have re-x-rayed it.

Oh and DH may have just broken a tooth this morning to cap off his week.

We also got the latest heating bill and it comes to £448!!!! We are currently stuck with E.on until 2010 or we face a £50 fee if we transfer before then…I’m not sure if it is worth just swallowing that and changing anyway

Other news, the washer from DH’s work never materialised as they had got rid of the last one during last week but we did manage to find one we like and get DD a bed. Perhaps wrongly but we did put both on the credit card, however I know how much each one cost and I am doing a spreadsheet and aim to pay both off the credit card as quickly as possible.

    Today’s plan is as follows:
    · Buy fruit and veg from market
    · Buy cereal from Tesco’s for kids
    · Wash up and hoover lounge
    · Decide on something for dinner
    · Catch up with the other diaries and the £2 savers club

I will be so glad when this week is over.

    Catch you all later.

 sheesh hon, you are having a rubbish time I think one of these :grouphug: is called for ... or maybe one of these .

Do hope that your boys are soon recovering from their respective traumas & not wearing out poor nurse Tea too much.

Positive thought : Friday is the first day of summer & according to long range forecast it's going to be warmer than average  I foresee many trips to the park for picnics & pimms :D

'Courage mon brave' as they say in the foreign legion
