The most you can hope for are clues.....:)0 -
Ordered this just now, I hope I've done the right thing... I looked all over to see if its ok with win98 not se I hope it is.
Does this come with the ink for printing black and colour or do I have to order those separately? and any updates on where is best to buy the ink from?
There isnt an awful lot of info on the comet site about this but looking around is the dcp120c same as the dcp120ui the same product?Thanx

Lady_K, I received this printer/scanner/copier on Tuesday. I run Windows 98 and it works just great. I think that you only need Windows 98se and above if you want to install the language translation software. It comes with a full set of ink (4 in total). Haven't sussed out the best place to buy replacements although Ink Emporium and Cartridge People have been mentioned here already. Hope this helps.0

Went down to my local Comet and bought one of these today. Works great - easy to set up (but follow the instructions and disable any programmes you have running before you install the software) print quality is excellent for the price and the copier and scanner work perfectly too. It comes with a free one year onsite warranty from Brother.
I didn't even need to buy a new USB cable as the one from my ancient desket fits and works perfectly.
It comes with a full set of cartridges but prices for this model seem very reasonable in comparison with my old HP deskjet e.g
https://www.inkcarts.co.uk are selling each colour at 2.99 (free P&P) on a buy 2 get 1 free offer0 -
I'm very tempted to buy one of these while they are still in stock, but can anyone who owns one tell us if the prints are really good for photos?
Very much appreciated if so!0 -
its not a photo printer0

Thanks Scanner - I know it's not labelled as such, but I have an existing HP 5740 which is also supposedly not a photo printer (though you can get a fancy replacement cartridge to make it so - sort of!) but the photos, to me, are superb. I guess it's subjective, to a degree, hence my seeking of opinion, could not find any review on the web.0

Hi Jeglet,
I've just done a couple of tests using some spare photo paper - photos come out really crisp and clear. There's a slot at the front of the machine for your memory card and you can print direct from that (a revelation to me). I can't see anything wrong with this machine :T at all but of course it's only a real bargain if you need to buy a new printer in the first place.0 -
I will want to use it for some photos sometimes but mostly for basic printing letters from word and things from the net(hope it can do that) Why would it have the picbridge thing if it wasn't a photo printer?
I suppose the ones that are just made for printing photos alone are the better ones for photo printing coz thats what they are made for. If you can use photo paper it must be meant to print photos. It also gives you the capability to view your pic before printing and change it if need be so... well I flippin hope so anywayThanx
