from either svp or the other place or e-bay any just which cale should i buy?
If you have a poundshop they might sell you a usb cable. If not maybe there is one located near your friends/family area. It should work with the printer as its a usb.Johntea wrote:It sometimes makes a noise at random times of the day, possibly cleaning heads or something. Hi
Ive has this model for about 4 months as a replacement for an HP all in one. The HP cost a fortune to replace the ink.
This has been absolutely superb. Far more sturdy than the HP, intuitive control panel and software, excellent printing: crisp text and amazing pictures, scanning is quick and easy and the stand alone copying is a doddle. I used to get a paper jam daily on the HP but not one single jam with this. Really like the integrated paper holder whereas the HP one used to stick out.
Jus bought 5 black and 3 each of the 3 colour cartridges for £20 delivered off eBay so very cheap to run.
Finally, Brother's warranty is on site!
Highly recommend this.

Is there anything it doesnt have or can't do? I would want to use ot for a lot of scanning and text printing does it have OCR? Does it have a card reader aswell? I'm just trying to think why they would reduce it to half priceThanx

Must admit after reading through all the threads and having had BAD experiences with epson printers breaking left, right & centre this certainly seems a good and value for money buy, not to mention you get the extras of the photocopier and scanner also!
Cartridges are in fact a bargain as my epson ones were so all in all im quite impressed with what Ive read over the last 5 pages and placed my order! Going through Quidco as well of course!!
Thanks Op !! :T0 -
 I've taken the plunge and purchased this printer! :j0

Can anyone please tell me if the scanner on this printer is good enoiugh so I can scan in all my old photos? I hear that a lot of cheaper scanner/printers are not able to fully scan in photos to a good enough resolution.
Is this printer good enough to produce decent reproductions of old photgraphs?0 -
TommyJ. Rang the phone No. to inquire for myself, told they were going like hot cakes. You can get them at local store but mine had sold out, just been down to order and pay.Pick up at store next Friday. That suits me fine,no problem with waiting in.0
