Printer + Scanner + Photocopier - all less than £50!

Options
I already have a Hewlett Packard all-in-one unit (inkjet printer, scanner and photocopier) which I paid just over £100 for a year or so ago, which seemed like quite a bargain at the time.

But, Comet now appear to have gone one better with a Brother all-in-one (model number: DCP120CU1) for less than £50 - and that includes 'standard' delivery (5 - 7 days) for free, and you can also choose the delivery date! :T (you're not able to specify am/pm though)

As I needed a spare printer for my OH's PC, I have gone ahead and ordered one, as you can't really go wrong at that price.

Direct link to item is shown below:

I just hope that somebody else might find this useful! (I'm not sure, but it's possible this may also be available instore as well as via https://www.comet.co.uk)

(PS: Ebuyer.com have the same unit for £97.52 delivered, so the Comet deal represents a significant saving.)

(PPS: Before anyone asks, no, I don't work for Comet. In fact I'm almost loathed to buy from them after a bad experience a year or two ago with a freezer, but when the price is right even I'm willing to forgive past misdemeanours.)

dont forget to go through quidco for 3-5% back
    ummm...
  • I forgot to mention . . .

Whatever you do - DO NOT add the £11.99 USB cable to your order, as this is a complete rip-off!

If you don't already have a suitable USB cable to connect a printer to your PC then you can pick up a relatively cheap USB cable from Ebuyer.com for 70p (incl. VAT) although with P&P it will end up costing £3.28 (if you go for Super Saver delivery):

  • Does anybody know how these compare to others of a similar price from other shops?

Can the ink cartridges be refilled? Or are they cheap to buy?

Ordered! I was looking at the cheap crappie Canon photocopier at £130! Bonus, especially as it works without a PC (cos I'm sure the printings not great - lol)
  • Thanks for the info, just placed my order.

Thanks for the info. I've just ordered one - although the delivery dates offered were w/b the 20th!!! So, bit of a wait for it to arrive.

A search on ebay brought up details of compatible ink cartridges being sold @ any 4 for £7.99 plus £2.99 postage. This looks a bargain compared to the prices for the Brother original cartridges. There are a number of listings, all by the same seller - for example see item number: 6856053013.

Sorry I am not an expert with printers. It says that the printer has 6 colours, does that mean it has 6 cartridges?

    Thanks
It costs nothing to be nice...:)

  • Not sure on that model (DCP120CU1) as i cant seem to find any compatible inks listed. So you might want to do a google search first before buying.
