    I forgot to mention . . .

Whatever you do - DO NOT add the £11.99 USB cable to your order, as this is a complete rip-off!

If you don't already have a suitable USB cable to connect a printer to your PC then you can pick up a relatively cheap USB cable from Ebuyer.com for 70p (incl. VAT) although with P&P it will end up costing £3.28 (if you go for Super Saver delivery):

Just bought the epson dx3800 all in one for £48.99 who did a price match against ebuyer and amazon. Epsom compatibles always seem to be the cheapest, you can buy a full set from ink emporium for £7.57. :j

The compatible cartridges are cheap because they are just plastic containers with ink. They do not contain the more expensive chips like Epson, or print heads like HP or Lexmark.

The Black is ok for "500 pages" and the colour ones for "400 pages" according to the box.

Must agree about print leads, 3metre, USB A plug to B plug, which is the most used printer cable, are available at most £ shops of which Poundland is the main.

Dont worry about USB 2 scare stories, its just wire and will carry all current versions of USB.

Oh I just remembered an annoying thing about possibly this printer (Happens on mine anyway)

It sometimes makes a noise at random times of the day, possibly cleaning heads or something. So don't leave it on overnight or it may become your new alarm clock!
