Vileda window cloths work for us, just wet them!
Especially MSE if a relative who is a cleaner gets them...Cheap enough in home bargains though0 -
newpaper seems very good when i clean my windows.
if you clean one side up and down and the other side left to right you can see if the streaks are inside or outside:cool:"More people would learn from their mistakes if they weren't so busy denying them." - Harold J. Smith:cool:0 -
DH, who is a window cleaner, is a great fan of microfibre cloths. He claims it's impossible to leave smears with them.weaving through the chaos...0

Thank you.
Not done the windows yet but did try vinegar and newspaper on the shower screen just now, not too bad, but still some limescale on there.

Thank you for that.
The link for streak free windows does not appear.
I think what has happened is that all those threads have ben consolidated into one since they were listed in the index.
The first link of the three is fine, the second two were later merged with it.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Haven't tried the micro-cloths yet but I've just done my patio windows with vinegar/water and buffed using kitchen roll - the stuff supposed to be especially for windows (although I suspect it is the same but in larger sheets) and I've got vertical smears on the outside and horizontal ones on the inside.:(
Will put micro-cloths on my shopping list - I find clean windows so up-lifting but hate it when they smear.7 Angel Bears for LovingHands Autumn Challenge. 10 KYSTGYSES. 3 and 3/4 (ran out of wool) small blanket/large square, 2 premie blankets, 2 Angel Claire Bodywarmers0 -
Apologies if this has been posted already. I use warm water with a tiny bit of washing up liquid. Get a cloth (the blue and white check one) put in water and wring as much water off as poss.
Wipe window. Screw up a page of newspaper and dry the window with it. Smear free and no extra cost on different cleaners!
Tried and tested on OH properties he does up, I have to clean the windows for him!!0 -
We use a smear free product from Betterware. I bought 3 tins last year as they were 3 for 2 and havent even used half of one yet. Should last another 2-3 years and is amazing. Its easier for me as theres not alot of elbow grease needed..lol. They were £5 for the 3, so not too expensive.

I don't use any products on my windows, I have a slightly damp microfibre to clean them down then wipe the over with a dry one. Never had a smear on them.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0
