news papers are great, i save free newspapers for cleaning windows.

  • Hot water and an e-cloth to wash the window, squeegee off most of the moisture then use the microfibre glass cloth to polish to a shine. No chemicals, and really quick (I live in house with big windows, and lots of them, plus lots of mirrors - and this cuts so much time, and no chemicals).

  • I found that the mistake was to use 'soft' cloths. There's always a risk of leaving smears with these because the contact with the glass is patchy and inconsistent.

There have been a couple of threads recently on cleaning windows with lots of tips in them so I've merged the threads to keep all the suggestions together.

Anyone have the best tips for cleaning interior windows? It seems every method I try, it takes ages and still smears.

Any lovely time saving tips that actually work, would be HUGELY appreciated.

    Many thanks. :D

I use a bit of washing up liquid in a bowl with water, wipe all over the window, then wipe with a piece of newspaper. It works!
