another vote for microfibre cloths I use them everywhere, get mine from woolworths and costco,
for glass I have one damp and one dry, no cleaner, wipe with wet one then dry off,

but NEVER put them in the tumble dryer it ruins them :D

I find it doesn't really matter what you wash the window with (I tend to use water with washing-up liquid and any old bits of fabric), as long as you dry/polish it with scrunched-up newspaper.

Use vinegar with a little bit of washing up liquid in a bowl with warm water,Wash them over with a cloth then shine with scrunched up newspaper will leave them streak free with no smears and gleaming,Let me know how you get on.

Try microfibre cloths, they are great for cleaning glass. I got some in tesco (3 for 99p I think). I use a damp one first and then buff them up with a dry one.

Theres a recent thread on microfibre cloths here

can recommend this it really works. Got empty squirty bottle from a friend filled it with tap water, squirted at window & buffed off with scrunched up old newspaper. No streaks no elbow grease, truly amazing. hazell

As an ex National Service man I can recomend it.

That is all we use at this house.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

I use my microfibre cloths; one soaked in very hot water and wrung out, then buff with a dry one. No smears and no elbow grease (as I've just finished recommending to aliosojo on the stardrops thread for her mirrors).
some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it :)
