Morning all,
Sorry to hear your news Helen, ((hugs)).
We had a couple of rescue dogs years ago, one never relaxed and was always snappy and the other was a dream but both were deserving cases....as they all are!!
Can anyone help me with this, Im due 18th May, Ive hols and lieu days starting 25/26th Apr(depends on if i work this Sun) but Ive had enough!!. Im customer facing and just feel like hiding away so I dont have to deal with anyone but thats boring and not really fair to my work who are paying me and getting no sales in return!!!. Should I ask to start my ML early or should I just grin and bear it, I know it doesnt seem long to wait but 9-6, 6 days a week is now exhausting!! - any thoughts please ......:j

Well guys, I made it past 35 weeks with the twins! Pretty amazed have done so after they are known to come early! Almost hitting 36 weeks!
Have been reading but not been posting, been too stressful here. The house is all clean (had the inlaws visiting) and now have carpets in the whole house after diying for 4 years. We have moved up into our new loft BUT wour ensuite isn't finished yet. It is painted and tiled and plumbing all in place - we just need the fixtures (toilet, shower and sink putting in) and doors putting on and then builders need to finish outside. We didn't get all painting done either as physically impossible so still have all of landing and stairs etc to do but will have to be extra careful due to carpets. So been very stressful, many late nights moving things ready for carpets.
Pregnancy wise, not been too great. Rang labour ward the other day as I have had swollen hands and feet but my feet really swelled up and became paranoid after reading about pre-eclampsia but I have no further symptoms and I have been told to rest (rest? What is that?). My nights are terrible - the twins mound of inside me and I end up in agony - seems only to happen in the night for about 5 mins or so, several times. Got my 36 week scan on Monday so they will know more about the twins positions and can give more advice on the birth options.:o
Proud mother of twin boys - double the trouble and twice the pleasure! :T0 -
Helen, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. I think people would still love to see your scan pics next week- it will give them something happy to focus.
My OH's Nan sadly died this weekend. They weren't close but his Mum still wanted to talk about Bubs as it gave her something positive to focus on. I guess you just have to gauge how people are feeling.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
candice56 - could you ask/afford to work less hours/days? maybe if you do half days until your original ML date you would find it easier to cope?
Ickle - well done on keeping them cosy in theremy hands and feet swell every night now without fail
and I wake up about 10 times in the night for random reasons - I'm knackard!
Are you getting panicky at all? I was in denial towards the end with Chris but I'm already worrying about the birth this time:o0 -
Me too Sami! I think it's because we know what to expect... Kind of... I'm trying to focus on the baby at the end of it... And the joy of not being pregnant... But that labour is getting ever closer
I actually wrote a list of things to get ready for my hospital bags last night... Getting closer to packing them!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Hi Sami, I could afford to finish now as weve been very very fortunate to finally sell our campervan but I dont want to waste money and Im more concerned about whether hanging around is taking the mickey....im not really doing anything much now!!
Ive read you have to give 28days notice my official ML starts on 18th May so I could finish this Sat if they shifted hols etc forwarf too but does that class as notice???
Well done Ickle I was always sure that twins being early was a definate but youve done really well!!! House sounds great too.:j

Candice - I know you're customer facing but are there other tasks you could be allocated so you could work some time either out of the public eye or at home? That way you'd be earning but not under so much pressure?MFW Challenge member no. 96 - on hold!

candice they don't have to move your holidays too I'm afraid... if they don't have enough cover then they can refuse your holiday request - especially at this short notice. Your best bet is speaking to them and explaining that you are struggling at the moment.
I went on annual leave friday before last and start my ML on the 10th of may (I had a lot of leave to take tho!) and I would have been happy to carry on working if only work had been sensible with allowing me to work from home - alas they decided to be stubborn and so I'm at home with my feet uphohum!

morning all.
candice i know how you feel. Have you spoke to your manager? is there another role you could do for the next couple of weeks (if you cant finish earlier).... i work in travel agents and a few weeks ago really had enough of all the constant pressure to get people to book, not cancel their holiday etc. targets that were based on a year ago when no-one had heard the words 'credit crunch'. as i have high blood pressure and really dont need the stress i moved into a back-office job. now i work mon-fri, 'normal hours' instead of trafford centre hours. and no pressure. i have specific thngs that i must do in the day, but anything else is 'if i have time'. dont think i could have coped for longer with the stress of selling. now my manager has been great. even said that if work is getting too much for me that i can drop a day if need be. Although some part of me thinks she is being extra nice cos i'm doing a job that no-one else wants to! lol!! (i do enjoy it though)
mum and sis have now gone (5.45 am) and i really miss my mum. she is sensible and wont let me buy things she knows deep down i'm buying on impulse. just hope she'll be able to come over more in the summer as i get further along. MIL is fab but i really would like my mum to be here with me.'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
I saw my mum on Sunday at my brothers twins christening. She didn't even speak to my 2 youngest who were with me although she did come and say hello for a couple of minutes. Only thing she asked about pregnancy was whether or not the baby was planned  felt like saying 'oh no, it's not OH's, I've been messing around!' Asked after my eldest but not the others, never even acknowledged my OH either. I get cross when it happens then come away thinking I must be such a horrible person if she doesn't want anything to do with me.Too many children, too little time!!!0
