Shelvis, i wouldn't bother.
My daughter went straight into the cot after my son came out of it (there is 18 months between them) so I didn't see the point in buying a new mattress.
Like the others have said, if it had been stored somewhere, then yes get a new one as you don't know what crap and dust would have got onto it, but for continual use between siblings, I really wouldn't botherTank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
There are two.. Danielle is a model (not sure which type!) and Niaomi is a singer, formerly known as Miss Dynamite
What's different about Claudia Winkleman? She just looks different.. like she's had something done to her faceI just don't like him, think it was because the first I knew of him was in Gordon's book and he paints a very nasty picture!
Shelvis - I don't think we'll get a new mattress for bubba, I haven't actually checked the rules but if we hadn't have had 2nd baby Chris would be using this mattress for another year or two so I don't see the difference personally. Although bubba will be in crib at first (with the mattress that we used for Chris) and daytime naps will be in a moses basket that has been used by my friend for her 2 girls (now 2yrs and 6mths) I might get a new mattress for the MB but prob not, I'm pretty laid back about these things tho.
I'm grumpyGot decorator coming at 8am  can someone tell me why on earth when he said "is 8 ok or would you prefer later?" I said "oh no no 8 is fine" stoopid stoopid Sami now has to get up too early and spend the day feeling very uncomfortable that there is a man in her kitchen
at least Mummy n daddy are home 2mo so hopefully Mummy will come round for a bit, I'm gonna suggest we go looking at rescue doggies once decorator finished too I know its a bit soon but as she's off work it'll be better to go while its quiet and I have a feeling we'll be quite picky. It'll be soo weird coz we've never really picked a 'new' dog we always sort of acquire them or have kept a puppy from a litter.

The trouble with rescue centres is that you want to take them all home...
I can't sleep... Hubby's off on his comedy snoring again and I just feel wide awake... Hungry too.... Don't know if I want to risk going into the kitchen to get something to eat though, will probably end up letting the cats out... Plus I just weighed myself and I haven't put anything on in the last 2 weeks! 2st1lb more than I was when I booked in though...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

I'm sure we will Krystal! we love doggies but have a specific 'brief' because it/they will be living in the garden, unsupervised during the day, be expected to go hunting with my Dad and be fun and 'safe' for Chris n bump to play with I'm not sure we'll beable to find that at a rescue place but her we'll enjoy meeting lots of lovely dogs and giving them a bit of love while we look.
I can't believe ur on the sofa and OH is snoring upstairsI'd have him on the sofa until he stops!! Pregnant ladies need their sleep
Anyhoo I'm gonna go get in bed to get my 6 hrs if I'm lucky, fed up of waking up all the time :rolleyes:0 -
I'm only on the sofa because I'm awake... Thought I'd sit up a bit until I feel really tired then try again... Then take the DS up and play jewel quest if I still can't sleep then lol...
Know what you mean about waking all the time!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Sami - not going to read the whole thread but just noticed that you were going to look at a rescue doggy? Is this for you or your parents? Many rescues won't rehome to people with young children and babies so if it's for you then don't put your hopes up too high...
There are a couple of reasons for this. One that often people find it too much to have a new dog as well as a young family (guess how our dog ended up in rescue) and as you can't take the kids back it's the dog that ends up back in rescue. Second is that there is always a risk of putting a dog with children - the rescue will temper test the dog but there is NO guarantee for how it will react with a screaming baby or a toddler pulling it's tail/ear/whiskers - the rescue has a duty to not place a dog in a situation where they feel it may end up harming anyone no matter how placid it normally is...
Lastly - rescue dogs require an enourmous amount of work and training classes and very often people with young children and babies just don't have this time and underestimate the time and work required and end up with a dog that rules the roost or is uncontrollable...
So - if the dog is for you then just be aware that the rescues might not be willing to rehome to you... And if it is for you then try to pick something over about 3 years old with some prior trainingYou do not want to be trying to house train a puppy or deal with a hooligan teenager dog

My DFW Diary - blah- mildly funny stuff about my journey0 -
My Mum got her doggy (the one we are currently dogsitting) from a rescue centre 10 years ago. We were told that she couldn't go to anyone with young children because of her temperament. This was fine as at the time I was the youngest at home. She was immaculately trained and an absolute due. Over time various young children arrived in the family, and she has never been any problem with them. She lets them pet her, then slinks off to hide!
I guess they have to err on the side of caution, and as MrsTine says you don't know if they would under the pressure of screaming children chasing them!
Sami hope you have fun at the rescue centre and see lots of lovely doggies.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Tine!!! Glad you're back
:kisses3:
Yeah doggy is for my parents, we/they are experienced dog owners and breeders so we know what's involved in looking after a dog/puppy and we've experienced the new owner returning a puppy too - we soon learnt from that one!
I'm not sure if we would be able to get a rescue dog due to what we intend to 'use' the dog for but it's where we'd like to start
You still feeling a bit poop with pain?0
