Someone needs to explain what's wrong with this foot!

I'm just reading another thread about someone who's brother has a newborn and isn't replying to her texts. How have people with new babies managed to make time for everyone who wants or needs to be kept in the loop? I have a hard enough time keeping up with everyone as it is, adding a demanding tiny person to the equation makes me utterly convinced that I'll be this woman's brother and all my friends and relatives will hate me.

 have they offered to give you a full body x-ray once bubs is here - just in case? I couldn't believe it when my GP said she thought my cervix had grown over the strings _pale_ thank god she was wrong and they had just folded back on themselves! Hubby reckons his 'massive' manhood pushed 'em up there :rotfl:(in his dreams :p)

Nope, because I haven't had any unexplained pains they are assuming it has fallen out. My DH likes to think he shot it out :D

Hi all.. Caught up now :)

Hugs to MSD xx Hugs also to vicstar and Mrs Moc xx
(feels horrid saying those two together.. :o)

feelie and AM, glad to hear your boys are doing well :)

On the 12wk debate, I admit I cringe everytime I see someone "reminding" a newbie that everything might not work out, but maybe that's because of my own history. Particularly those who haven't lost themselves or experienced the "scary-ness" of that first trip to the loo and seeing exactly what we don't want to see..

I joined up a few hours after I got my first BFP, then was quite established here when I started bleeding and found out I'd had a missed m/c at 9wks. I never really went away, then pleasantly informed everyone that AF was due and when I was going to test etc when I got my BFP this time (three months after the m/c). I remember "celebrating" seeing the heartbeat on a scan at 5+3, then getting past 10wk point, then the 12wk scan etc etc. I've only really felt comfortable since I got past 24wks once baby was viable. Even now, every loss I hear about, reminds me this one might not make it but then I have to remind myself that at 27+3 he stands a good chance of being okay! :o

tinkerbell, glad you're feeling more comfortable now and have started buying :D We're going baby shopping (probably window shopping really, but making some decisions on what we actually want!) on Tuesday after the second 4d scan - can't wait! :)

I'm at home with my parents tonight. Was supposed to be going out with two friends for tea but one txt me this morning to say she had a cold but was still intending to come, and when I told the other one she kicked off saying that it wasn't fair to potentially infect me with it so said she wasn't going to come and as she was going to pick the infected one up, we ended up cancelling the evening! Can't say I was that bothered.. the infected one has recently split up with her boyfriend and seemed to have turned into a bunny boiler who refuses to listen to advice! :(

OH has gone visiting a friend who he's not seen for ages. OH's colleague was taken to hospital in the early hours of yesterday morning so he's been to visit him too. They don't think it's anything too serious but they're keeping him in for a few more days, which means OH has to work his fourth weekend in a row! :(

Am sure I had more to say but can't remember what.. Will stay around for a while so I might be able to join in for a bit :) Hope everyone is well xx

SugarSpun - we have an informal "phone tree" set up in DH's family. When something's up, we call MIL and SIL, they pass along the news if appropriate to other members of family, including updates. It just makes life easier. And then we can email or text or contact on facebook at our leisure. Thankfully, DH's family is all pretty laid back.

    Sami: it's here:

Apparently the brother is also an ungrateful so and so as well as not answering his texts. I'm going to set up a phone tree, that's a great idea (when we told my parents I was pregnant, my dad texted everyone in his phone with the announcement that he was about to become a grandfather. He received a large number of texts asking which kid was responsible, and a few offering to sort out my then fiance for having had the nerve to impregnate me!).

Perhaps I'll lobby all my friends to join Facebook so I can update once and not think about them.

I like the 'phone tree' I just have my Mum on my side I know what ever I tell her will be passed to everyone including 'aunties' and the 3rd cousin twice removed etc within 24hrs :rotfl:
Although OH's family is HUGE we only actually regulary talk to/see about 5 off them so we just tell FIL to pass it on usually his Mum is just like my Mum and gets it round everyone
