2)Agree with tirlittan in not being so tough on self for the sake of longterm sanity:

Think I was a bit tough on myself in May / June which led to further financial meltdown so have a maybe new strategy - 2 months throw every penny at debts followed by one month easy on self / buy essentials etc, but have no available credit so cannot do further damage. I will still overpay during the easy month but not stress myself. I also think this may help with focussing me during the pay off 2 month periods knowing a bit of relief is around the corner........

This is a problem I struggle with- if I am too tough on myself I tend to blow it all. This sounds like an excellent way to deal with it and will definitely consider if that could be good for me to try.

Just paid another £115.66 to CC from money I've saved by spending less this month. Not buying magazines, clothes, cleaning products and Diet Coke on the 100 day challenge really seems to be helping. I'm also starting to feel that my shopping habits are changing and it is becoming more natural to walk past these things in the supermarket etc. When I am tempted I am far more likely to resist at the moment on pretty much everything!

    Well done Bells&whistles :j

Sally and Mike - I have added you to the front page today. I totally forgot, because I'm a bit rubbish :o

Mike - can you let me know your targetted debt please and how old you're going to be on your birthday? If you're a 29/02 birthday you can't be more than about 6 or 7 surely :rotfl:

Just a bit of an update from me!

Last time I posted I hoped to be debt-free in Sept 09 - 6 months before my birthday target in March. But that went wrong! :p

So I now have the amounts in my signature to pay off, plus I owe my OH £400! Hopefully I'll get it done before March. I want to be 21 and debt free!

Good luck to everyone else in this challenge! :T
    Total Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675
    House Deposit Savings : £8,600/£25,000
    Lose 21lb : 0/21

Monthly summary done and I seem to be back on track. It is going to be very difficult to meet my planned debt free date but I reckon I can do it!
    14.4% cleared this month :)

  • Hi F_F! I’ll be 32 on my birthday, or 8 in Leap Year Birthdays!

My total targeted debt is £23,861.53, which I’d like to shift by 29/02/12. The two smaller debts (£1,479.57 and £3,422.00) are the ones with the highest APRs, so I’m going to try and plough through them in the first six months of 2010, before throwing everything at the big one of £18,959.96!

    Good luck everyone!
