    How is everyone else doing?
At a stand still until next Thursday (pay day for me :D) and then that Scabbyfax card will be gone gone gone! :j (I'm looking forward to it, you may have noticed :D) Aiming to close down Barclays account i'm no longer using (and so remove overdraft as 'available credit' from my record) apply for another 0% card (poss Tesco's/M&S so that once it's cleared I can keep it to use for weekly shopping- which will be paid immediately- so I can accrue points or &More points or whatever) That's the plan at the mo.. :)

Just seen my monthly repayment of £250 went out a few days ago and the total loan amount has gone down by just over £100  the rest went on interest :mad::mad:

This is so annoying and happens to me all the time with my loan. Grrr for interest.

  • Hi all, can I join too?

I’m one of those ‘lucky’ people who were born on the 29th February, so I only get a real birthday once every four years. This means that I can make my target DFD my next birthday and still have this as a realistic challenge.

My current DFD is scheduled for Oct 2012, so my challenge is to shave a few months off this. Hopefully, I’ll be able to help some of you out with encouragement, support and occasional (friendly) shoves in the right direction, and have some returned too.

Nobody lets the DFBC down! We all have our trials and tribulations. These dates are something to aim for but too often life gets in the way of our plans :rotfl:

    Hiya all!

Well done Bells! :T It's nice to get under certain amounts, by however much. It's all downhill!!!

I might have to revise my DFD. I feel I'm just living for debt busting and don't have a life. So in the new year, when I've finally paid all of my interest on the loan and will finally start making a dent in the capital, I just might lower my payment a bit so I can have a life for myself and with bf. The way I'm going at the moment, paying over third of my wages to the debt, doesn't feel sustainable to me for the next 2 years.

I'm also hoping to find a new, better paid job next year, and that would hopefully help to get me back on track.

Been thinking and planning, planning and thinking.....

1)Accept am stuck with high interest debts and not apply for further credit for a year to allow some repair of credit record.

Had a few missed payments earlier in the year and currently unable to transfer balances and stuck with cards on high APRS. Checked credit report - have 2 credit cards still active which were cancelled 4 months and 3 years ago respectively!!! Kindly asked companies to REMOVE FROM MY FILE!!!!!

2)Agree with tirlittan in not being so tough on self for the sake of longterm sanity:

Think I was a bit tough on myself in May / June which led to further financial meltdown so have a maybe new strategy - 2 months throw every penny at debts followed by one month easy on self / buy essentials etc, but have no available credit so cannot do further damage. I will still overpay during the easy month but not stress myself. I also think this may help with focussing me during the pay off 2 month periods knowing a bit of relief is around the corner........

3)Start looking for christmas presents now Grabbits etc to save some cash
