If all else fails I've bought myself a replacement!
ive been observing this and i dont think the police would even bother with it,for one you dont seem 100%you would recognise your own phone, and if it is your phone the buyer just has to say it was a different phone he sold you and you will look like the liar.Im known as the 'Fixer' if you have a problem, come to me and i can fix it for you.0 -
if it has been barred by the network it will behave in one of two ways
1. it will refuse to pick up signal
2. it will pick up signal but refuse to make or recieve
calls
either way he can be reported to ebay for goods not as described, shame ebay dont give a stuffthings arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back then

they can in theory but unblocking a barred imei or changing the imei is highly illegalBowling_4_Gold wrote: »Oh, I only suggested it could be sold as faulty but sorry if I didn't make myself clear.
Yes, Blocked phones can be 'Unblocked', but not all models for example the Nokia 6100 probably can whereas the Nokia 6500s with its BB5 security probably can't that easilythings arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back then

But, it's better to be right than wrong. And better to be put right, than to carry on being wrong.
I know this might seem irrelevant, but I have to say that spelling and grammar are important, it is not just a "middle-class, old fashioned" thing. In the olden ages, before mass publications there was no set spelling as only a handful of people could read and write, but when the printing press got going and they could publish stuff for the masses there had to be a set way of spelling so that everyone could understand it.
That has survived for hundreds of years, untill now unfortunately. I know that people use text, e-mail etc. but there is a right and wrong way to spell and if you use the right way everyone knows what you are trying to say. I personally find some of the postings on here virtually impossible to understand.
I also find it very depressing that the post criticising the OP's spelling attracted about 16 thanks, whereas the next post saying who cares, spell as you want attracted twice that number. That ways lies madness and chaos. :eek:0 -
I am just going to let it be posted to me, I dont really fancy having to go and collect it. I will just wait and see when I receive the phone. As per someone saying I dont seem sure I would recognise it, well no not sure at the moment as all I've got to go on is one (slightly blurry) picture. But once I do get the phone I know exactly how it had been chipped when I had previously dropped it, so sure I would be able to tell on closer inspection.
Heres waiting on the post....0 -
Finally in response to those that still continue to post RE spelling and grammar. I find it very discriminatory that those of you who consider yourselves to have excellent abilities in spelling and grammar, feel you need to comment on other people’s postings. How presumptuous of you to think that there may not be people using these boards that have learning disabilities, dyslexia, or any number of other special educational needs – how do you think people would feel coming on here for help and advice and being shot down for not getting their spelling and grammar correct!
I myself don’t have any of the above and low and behold my spelling (more often than not, due to typos) and grammar is not perfect, but I never professed to be. It hasn’t held me back in life so far and everyone has their own flaws. Unless indeed all you spelling and grammar experts are 100% perfect in every single thing you do in life. Although I doubt that.
If in fact you cannot make sense of anyone's post due to incorrect spelling, text speak or poor grammar, then feel free to stop reading and go find one you can make perfect sense of.0 -
However, there is a marked difference between someone who has learning difficulties,Dyslexia etc, making mistakes, and someone who professes to be educated doing so. What it shows, is that the education system is failing,if degrees etc, can be achieved by someone who makes basic grammatical errors.0

Can I just point out that there are many many many thousands of these phones around - how can you be so sure that by looking at it you'll know if it's yours?
You may well have chipped it or scratched it in certain places, but I've had models of phone that have worn in the same places as other people who have the same model - the same goes for chips and scratches - you tend to find that weak points or easily scratched/chipped areas will be the same on them all.
Obviously the IMEI if it's yours will give it away, but you seem to be underestimating the amount of these handsets produced - just because this phone is being sold from the same town you lost it, doesn't mean it'll be yours!0 -
As you've won the auction, you can now request details like address etc by using the request contact details on Ebay

being pedantic the op states its a u900 in black, this was a network exclusive to i think vodafone, making it a u900v (rare variant)Can I just point out that there are many many many thousands of these phones around - how can you be so sure that by looking at it you'll know if it's yours?
being pedantic even further a proffesional trader would know this and advertise as such.
if the imei number display looks suspicious post a pic and i can look over itthings arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back then
