have just looked online and maybe she needs worming.....
I think the nurse in me is worrying too much. I assume cats can get the same illnessess as humans so in that case I am thinking Cushings disease or Hypothyroidism:confused:

NPM - I was going to ask if Fatcat might need worming.

wannabe sybil - Sorry you are so weary atm (((HUGS))) About the washer-dryer, if you have an independent electrical retailer in your area you may be able to get a bargain by buying an "end of line" one. that's how I ended up with my AEG WM, which is not computerised or anything but is still doing a first-class job eight years on. (touch wood!)

    floss2 - thanks for the link :D

elona - What a shame you 've had to try reducing the price of your house - it sounds so nice! Good luck, i hope it does the trick.

penelope penguin - sorry you've been poorly for so long, that's not nice at all! Try to listen to your body and rest when it's telling you to, if at all possible - I think that's something we tend to lose the habit of doing when life's so hectic. Gentle (((HUGS))) to you.

tru - before I forget, I must tell you, we caught a mouse overnight in a trap baited with.......half a dried cranberry!:D Nothing else had worked on the one(or ones) we knew were getting into the living room.

AussieLass - glad you're ok and enjoying having DS home...I think you are, anyway....

hockeyduo - so pleased for you about the mortgage :T

peyton - So pleased for you, too, about your move! Glad you see you back, we missed you.

csarina - Hooray, you've moved too, take care of yourselves and don't try to get everything done at once. I'm really pleased that you have a sewing room again, I know you really missed that.

Not much in the way of OS going on here today I'm afraid :o, trying to work out what clothes to take on our trip to Germany to see my DBro and his OH but it all seems like too much hard work atm....going to church tonight and I'm meant to be singing the Psalm, and have bad hayfever and tend to suddenly sneeze violently, so that should be interesting:p

We went to Bluewater y'day, as DBro's OH asked if we could bring her some Thornton's toffee. B'water as a whole wasn't too bad, but Thornton's was a seething maelstrom of mums with small children, trying to manipulate pushchairs in a long narrow shop while juggling stacks of Easter eggs  DH sent me outside to sit down. They didn't seem to have anything suitable for the small GKs this year, so went to M & S instead and bought a choccy tractor for DGS and a cow for DGD - they should last ages as only a little bit will be eaten at one time (hopefully) - DGD is really a bit young for Easter goodies anyway (16 mths), but we'd have felt mean leaving her out, as she's :A

Sorry there are so many folk I haven't mentioned but i do think of you all!

I haven't yet tried making laundry gloop, but have just recently bought Mr S's own brand laundry liquid instead of Ecover - it's much cheaper, smells gorgeous and so far it hasn't made any of us itch, so that's a plus :D

Hmmm, have not wormed her but she is an indoor cat:confused:. I am not well up on cats......she is OHs cat so she came as part of the deal:rotfl:.
She was huge when he brought her here and was put on diet biscuits by the vet and she did lose a bit of weight but not much:o
Maybe she is just a hungry cat but recently she has got worse and is hanging around everytime someone opens the fridge and begging.
She even jumped up and shoved her face in my mums fish and chips when she was here much to OHs embarrassment:rotfl:
Do cats still need worming when they are indoors?

This is not a qualified opinion...

Eggs from worms can become dormant and be like cysts inside the animal, at least that was what I was told, and then activate again. I used to watch our old tom like a hawk for this, as he was badly infected when we got him, and he was an indoor cat, though he got his worms through his mother. He was six months old when we got him, or rather he took possession of us. Cleaning up a floor full of almost wriggling worms after the worming was not what I signed up for, I was more the hoping for a cuddle on a lap.

However, if there are worms fatcat is more likely to be nicknamed 'Slim' but it is hard to tell.

It may be worth trying worming first, but I would be inclined to take fatcat to someone qualified as it does seem a bit extreme, even for a cat. Of course, that is not the cheapest option...

Also, it may be worth trying to post on the pets board, as there are some very 'catty' people on there. In a nice way...

Also, never underestimate the volume of fur. After bathing fatcat may well look like slim jim. Evil cat looks like she is made of chicken bones and fuse wire. And extra distilled malice, of course.

Elona - thank you for that tip. I don't really know what I want in a washer, except that it gets the clothes clean. There seem to be such a multiplicity of variations on that.

I shall have a furtle around and see what independent shops are doing.

    Afternoon all

I'm late on today - been busy with, I have to say, non-OS stuff.

What happened was, I had an email from Avanti magazine (magazine of the Civil Service Retirement Fellowship), asking to interview me. I asked them if I could answer the questions by email rather than on the phone, and they agreed, so I've been most of the day putting the answers together, and also (at their request) doing photos of some of my cross stitch. Goodness knows why they think I'm in any way interesting:confused:

I have to admit, I didn't even realise Easter was upon us til halfway through this week, when I saw "Bank Holiday" on my calendar and realised Mr LW ironed one more shirt than necessary last Sunday.:D

Having realised we have a 4 day weekend, I'd hoped we'd be able to get to grips with the [STRIKE]wilderness[/STRIKE] garden, but the way the weather's looking, it ain't going to happen.

Pasta and cheese sauce for dins tonight, probably followed by a piece of carrot & orange cake, and we have a bottle of wine for later (something we do every Full Moon).
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Only read back the last few posts, but Sybil your's did make me giggle, the wife wanting to move if the house is fixed up, does he not know that the wife may just leave if it isn't lol! What a cheeky excuse! Loving your list of things to do, good luck with the rest!

re moving house - I used to be known in our family as having a mssive tidy up and wallpapering, painting etc only when we were moving - said i needed a move every now and then to tidy things up. Lo! it has changed with flylady(ish) and being better organised + all the tips on here.

Having a fun tea for myself. Have sauteed celery, leek, sprouting broc, garlic, carrot then made a white sauce and am having that with spaghetti and a glass of wine :p.

Planning to watch mindless TV tonight and relax. Or relax as much as I can when my mobile seems to have stopped working and I'm waiting for a call from DS.

    Have a good evening all

    Five minute sanity saver.

Little bear has, for the first time ever, had some orange juice. Any earlier attempt was met with a polite but very firm refusal. It is because he was given it in company. Still, I would rather he was rude at home and polite in company than vice versa.

Also, I cannot claim any unwarranted sympathy if little bear is still teething. From the start it has always followed the same pattern. There has been a week or so of not quite in top form, off his grub, tired and gruesome nappy rash. Then red gums appear, then he gets tired enough to go turbo so that I have to have the reflexes of a snake as he suddenly takes an interest in EVERYTHING and if it is potentially lethal the better, so I will be saying, come away from the plug, come away from the wire, don't lick the TV () etc and then he will be fine. No tears or anything, just a bit more Mr Mischief. The first tooth took a month to come through - I was sick of thinking about teething at the time. At the moment he is sitting quietly because he is tired, but turbo is always an option.

Well, I have baked potatoes in the Remoska, and the sausages are ready to go in, and I am impressed that I have managed that. However tomorrow is another day, and I have dips lined up for tea, bacon butties for lunch.

    Five minutes are up!
