DH has caught daughter's cold so have sent him upstairs with a hot water bottle for a lie down to see if that helps.
Washing is on the line outside and have had a cheese toastie for lunch, DH had poached egg on toast and tea will be sausage and mash.
Large box arrived from approved foods with lots of sachets of Lloyd Grossman cooking sauces, boxes of various cereal bars and some sweets, chocolate, special crisps and nuts etc. which I will need to hide away.
Don't really feel like doing anything at the moment so just pottering on here and about to make a pot of tea to soothe my throat.
Posted cheque yesterday to advertise the house at a reduced price so let's hope it helps.
Hugs to everyone who could do with one and see you later."This site is addictive!"

Also, any ideas about where to start looking for a new washer dryer (decided that I will keep the option of a tumble dryer as I use mine at least once a fortnight )
Also, any recommendations? The one I would have liked I don't think I can save up enough quickly enough, which was AEG. I really think my washer needs to be condemned.
Dear heart thinks it's a conspiracy. The day after I finally got the sink unit fixed I immediately started about the next expensive thing I wanted for the kitchen. I haven't told him about the list. You know, decent kitchen, carpets that would not be condemned by an incontinent dog, boiler that is younger than I (actually I would settle for a boiler that wasn't checked by Noah just before the flood!), that sort of thing.
And then, when we have it all sorted out, we will move. Dear heart has always said that he is not getting the house fixed up, because whenever that happens the wife always wants to move. Hmm.
Still feel flatter than last week's lemonade. Evil cat is being particularly obnoxious, so a nap for me is out and poor little bear is likely not to have much energy from his mum today for playtime.
Hugs to all.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
Elona - also you seem to have been really hit by a bug as well. There are some dreadful lurgies going around. I hope you feel better soon!Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0

Hello all:j
Well a wet day here today:rolleyes:
Have been out into town first thing as DS decided he just had to have a Guess Who game right now:p....looked everywhere but couldnt find one...it was busy too so he started flapping and making noises etc...I now have a big badge on my bag about Autism and make sure people can see it if they stare;)
He got a DVD instead and is watching it now.
Have made some HM cod goujons for tea and they are ready to cook and doing new pots and tenderstem brocolli.......Redruby the thought of sausage chips and beans is making me hungry...that might be Sats tea:T by the way I have been marking off some walks in my new book ready for some different trips out...don`t want to go anywhere too deserted as OH may think I am going to give hima treat a la Hester:rotfl:
Not much planned here for easter.....DS only bothered about the eggs:o will not get to church as it is too holy a time for DS to be shouting "onions!" and other such stuff. Just been doing my meat order for the month from the farm shop....much nicer than supermarket meat.
Well off to catch up with rest of the thread.

Think I have got over the bug I got a couple of weeks ago -just feeling tired and lazy.
DD(20) phone to say she will be home tonight so DH and I will pick her up at the station. She hates sausage and mash so might offer to make her stuffed tortillas instead and then all have a lazy night watching dvds. "The Mentalist" is on tonight at night so looking forward to watching it.
Must get round to hiding away the sweets etc so we have some left for DD's friends, sleepovers etc."This site is addictive!"

Do any of you cat owners know what I can do with Fatcat?
I am sure she has thyroid probs or something....cannot fill her up at all
Have switched to a higher fibre dry food to try to fill her for longer as she is constantly hungry.
It has got to the point where her dish is empty at 6pm:eek: so you have to put a few more biscuits in and then she is waking us in the middle of the night wanting food.
I am wondering if she needs to go for blood tests0 -

I don't whether you have covered this, but have you wormed fatcat? Also is there water down?
Some cats just like to eat. The cat at our lovely vets has a tag that does not say his name but says, 'I am fat, do not feed me'. This cat broke into their store cupboard and started eating the dry kitten food there! But perhaps it is best to get the furry one checked out.
Also, you are a hero, with your dear son, and I don't know how you manage.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
Hmmm, have not wormed her but she is an indoor cat
. I am not well up on cats......she is OHs cat so she came as part of the deal:rotfl:.
She was huge when he brought her here and was put on diet biscuits by the vet and she did lose a bit of weight but not much:o
Maybe she is just a hungry cat but recently she has got worse and is hanging around everytime someone opens the fridge and begging.
She even jumped up and shoved her face in my mums fish and chips when she was here much to OHs embarrassment:rotfl:
Do cats still need worming when they are indoors?0 -
Noahs mummy, I would say the cat needed wormed , probably twice a year . I would suggest ringing the vets to see if they can offer advice? I would usually ring before taking kitty down, to try and avoid expensive fees.
Add to that, cats are naturally very greedy animals so it's a difficult one, but I would definitely ring your vets for advice . They will also confirm about the worming.A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men
