How do I break the dishwasher and make it look like wear and tear? The trus keep putting things in it, I sneak them back out again and put them in the sink :rotfl:

Just a bit of washing today, I'm going to leave it to soak while I nip to town for master tru's euros. His passport came on time and he's off to Amsterdam tomorrow for the weekend  I can imagine what three 18 and 19 year olds will get up to there, so I'm going to try and pretend that he doesn't exist til he reappears on monday. Otherwise I'll go mad with worry

The weather's not great here but the garden has enjoyed it, the onions are shooting up and the carrots are just starting to peek through. I'm going to make some Twinks and cakes later.

I've given myself the afternoon off, I'll be catching up on Torchwood while working on a diary/organiser/notebook/not-sure-what-to-call-it-yet-cos-it'll-include-everything :D Keep one for me, sell the rest :D Need to find a supplier of recycled A5 thick card

    Hello everyone,

Well it's raining atm right on cue for over Easter. Didn't have the best of nights sleeps last night with one thing or another. No xrated activities sadly. :D Had a Ninny day today. Did some baking this morning. Bread, cereal & cheesecake filling. DGS enjoyed it. Did some easter crafts with him after that. Made a chick out of toilet roll holder, 2 easter baskets & door hanger thingy.

Just been playing and having fun this arv. DH came home around lunch and we've all been playing soccer in the yard. Rain has just started about 1/2 hour ago. DD arriving around 6.30pm. She's going to call as she wants me to meet her with my Wally Trolley. Well I better go and sort out tea. Eating meat tonight. Snags with tomato & onion gravy. Yummy.

<hugs> to those not well. Have a nice day. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I have made up a similar thing in the last year or so. It started off as lists to follow flylady with & I added meal plans, shopping lists, recipes, emergency details (water stop !!!!, gas & elec turn off points etc), emergency telephone numbers, school/college/work letters, holiday lists & various other things that are needed to hand on a regular basis. It's a file & each sheet is in a plastic sheet protector & it lives in the kitchen with my diary. I find it invaluble & all the family know that everything is in one place so they'll write things on the shopping lists, add dates to the diary & look up recipes they want. I've also added a section for the Grocery Challenge receipts & useful info I've picked up.

    Morning all,
Wow what an interesting read on y/days thread. I think I'm OS. When first married and had our DD1 we didn't have a wm, bm, td, c/h, freezer or a fridge. I boiled terry towling nappies in a big pan on top of the cooker. Sheets towels and clothes were washed in the bath. Kept milk in a bucket of cold water and had one of those metal meat safes with a mesh door, I had to walk nearly 2 miles to the shops pushing my Royal pram every other day as without a fridge I couldn't stock up. That was my OS but wasn't by choice.

Oh how glad I am that I have all of the above appliances and can still do OS stuff as I have more time. :D
At the mo we are re-pointing stone walls, I think that's OS as in the past most people couldn't afford a handyman or trades person.

TRU, What a great debate you started, :T It's made us question how OS we are.
I think that if we can achieve keeping our family happy, healthy, loved and supported then that's the main thing.
Sounds like you are on an interesting journey with the help a good GP. Go girl.

Right then, tasks today will be cooking cod chips and peas for dinner, Morries are doing cod reduced so will stock up. More washing for DD2, have DGD this morning then more re-pointing this after. Ironing this evening and sort out bills.

Hope Mioliere manages to get back on here soon as I seem to have metamorphasized (sp) into her.

    DIVA, I've PMed you.
SQUIGGLY, Thanks for asking after DGD2, she is a treasure and doing well and managing to sleep through 5hrs during the night at the age of 4wks & 2days.

    Morning all,

just a quick post this morning as I have a busy day. Today is the day my sister is coming (really looking forward to that as I don't see nearly enough of her - she lives most of the year in Ireland and part year in Manchester where her children and grandchildren live - I live in Leeds) and we are going looking for a Mother of the Bride type dress for her. Her youngest daughter is having her wedding in Ireland in [STRIKE]7[/STRIKE] 6 weeks and she has not found anything she likes yet!!! She is going to be stopping tonight so loads to do.

I will have to have a quick run to Morries for some fish, get back change beds, tidy and clean house, bake a cake (prob lemon drizzle as it is quick and easy) prepare tea so that I can just turn it on when we get back this evening etc. Bm, wm on - hope weather cheers up as I don't want wet washing all over house when she comes but had to wash as 5 million wet/dirty towels mysteriously appeared in the wash basket this morning!!!!

Right mustn't ramble on - it's the excitement you know - I am so looking forward to her being here!!

Hope you all have good days I will try and catch up with all news later if I get chance - if not I will read back tomorrow when she goes home

    xxx:EasterBun

Edit - Just spotted Ruths post - ((((((((((((Hugs))))))))))))

    I've been Money Tipped!
Ruthibe - hugs. Hope things go well for your Mum.

Bargainbird - I really wanted to breast feed, but couldn't, so we set up the bottle system on the fly. I found Milton much easier to work with than microwave sterilising, and you can use the same batch of Milton for more than one batch of bottles, depending on how Spike is tucking in. When little bear was tiny I not only fed on demand but I also was religious about not keeping a bottle out for more than an hour, so he had oodles of half bottles  Then he decided he was going to have four hour feeds, thank you so much, and since then has been far more organised than me :D He doesn't seem to have suffered from it. He is currently tucking into toasted teacakes again for breakfast, I need to toughen up and get him back on porridge.

I also use Milton occasionally on ice cube trays, then rinse and fill.

Well, back to the plot, washing on all day, lady coming to see little bear soon, sausage and mash for tea, with buttery carrots, I think, and I may start trying to put things away in my new sink unit. Little bear permitting. He was on turbo yesterday, and he keeps poking at the back of his mouth, so I am praying that this is the final lot of back teeth coming through which would explain nappy rash, iffy appetite, shattered appearance and green nose.

Also, anyone have any tips about getting Play Doh out of carpets?

Good Morning Everyone! haven't managed to get on here much lately - need to catch up again! We have a houseful tomorrow evening as most of the choir will be back here to eat after singing the St Mark Passion. House is reasonably tidy, so today is the cooking day - ham already done! Need to get out to collect the salmon and the fish kettle, then need to cook fish and also coronation chicken. Hoping other folks will bring sufficient salads and puds, but will do a couple of each just in case.
Have agreed to organise church Summer Fair in about 8 weeks time:eek:
Must stop telling people I have more time these days! Any good ideas would be very welcome - so get your thinking caps on, please!

Hope you all have a good day - and ((HUGS)) to all in need of one.

    Morning all

    Big hugs to Ruthie.

It's piddling down here today, so far I've dropped hubby at work, been to the butchers to stock up for the BBQ on Sunday, it was meant to be next week, but BIL wanted it brought forward. My lodger is sat looking at me adoringly, she obviously feels it is time for her walk, so I'll take her along the river soon. I need now to have a mad blitz of the house if we are having visitors this weekend, I've bought a dozen little easter eggs for Sundays guests & a big posh one for MIL.
I need to vacuum through to get rid of the dog hairs again, she sheds a lot, being a Labrador, I also need to tidy the lounge & clean the kitchen, I didn't get a lot done yesterday.
I took the opportunity to discuss my funeral arrangements with my DD as I think it's easier to do it now. Not that I have very specific requests, basically it is, keep it short, wheel me in to The shepherds duet, if you want a hymn I'd like Jerusalem as I'm a WI member, if you want to talk about me, remember having my 4 kids was what made me happiest & proudest & wheel me out to Build me up buttercup, or if hubby's already popped off 'Coming home to you' Simply Red, short & to the point.

Breakfast - cornflakes & a toasted hot cross bun
    Lunch - egg sarnies
    Tea - Carbonara
I hope everyone has a good day.
    Hugs Hester

Morning all, last day before I get to go home! I just want my own bed now :) Slept very poorly last night, but I am trying to write a covering letter for a job; that has to be done in the next few hours (they want to put me forward for as a candidate  - I've only been here three days) and I don't know what to say. I left work at midnight last night and was back in for 6 am, still stressing about the letter and some silly formatting issues on my CV. I have to go back into my own department en-route home to give my cells some food, so it's going to be a long day again. I have enjoyed my time here though - they are such lovely people.

Last night I had cake for dinner. I didn't boil it :) Tonight we are going out, I haven't told OH this yet :)

Mountain ash - what a lovely post last night :)
nic1lou2 - enjoy your sister's visit - hope the outfit hunting is a success :)
    Ruthibie - ((hugs)) for you

Right - better get back to it. OH called last night to add some more solictor based stress to my normal worries, but I think he just needed to off-load. I am now at the point I don't care about this, so I guess that is a good thing.

have a good day all, cel x
