    Morning all,

The weather is gearing up for a bank holiday weekend, it horrible and drizzily here on the south coast , OH has a day off today, so he has gone off to a bootie, I have told him to be back by 10, as we need to tidy through before the last estate agent comes this evening.

Not sure what we will do today, I was thinking of a bike ride, but it would be horrible in this weather, will get out for a bit of a walk later with little dog.

Yesterday dd my sister and i went out shopping for the day, it was lovely we had lunch out, and mostly window shopped but I got a few bits.

last night I was invited round to a neighbours for a jamie at home party, which is a new thing he is doing, now I hate these sort of parties cos I always feel obliged to buy something, all the ladies there were saying the same, and we were all looking for the cheapest thing in the book, the stuff was sooooo expensive, a t towel was £9 , oven gloves £20 , I ended up buying a mixing bowl for £8, and a tin for my seeds which was £6, hey ho, I think next time I will make an excuse and just not go

Aussie, I thought you were veggie ?? are snags sausages ?????

Pen pen, hope you feel better soon hun xx

    Ruthieb, hugs to you xx

OS / jobs for today, run hoover round, mop floors, clean kitchen and bathroom, get dd to tidy her room, two loads of washing to do, well one is done, so one to go.

OH has just come in, he bought a pair of binoculars for £5 which are worth £300 :T:j.

Sausage chips and beans for tea tonight, so nice and easy :D

    have good days all xx

    Morning you lovely people!

Great thread yesterday BTW - very thought invoking! Thanks tru.

Well im at work today but as of 5pm, off until tuesday! Yippee - dont really have plans as yet but sure i will keep busy. Weather permitting, i may try and persuade OH to help me in the garden! needs weeding and tidying up a wee bit! We have a local gala every year and OH's mum always has a BBQ. They are renovating their garden this year and dont think it will be finished in time so have asked if we would have the BBQ

Have to say, my hosting skills leave a lot to be desired but i have plenty of time to get organised! Hence - mad rush to get garden in order.

Hester - its a hard subject to approach with your loved ones but i think its important that they know what you want. Must have this conversation with Mum and Dad at some point

Havent established whats for tea tonight - maybe freezer surprise.Sunday will be roast chicken lunch - then i am off up to glasgow to see Pink in concert! I am sooooo excited.

Have a lovely day everyone! And a Happy Easter! :D

Lunch is going to be a scratch meal with stuff in the fridge, got eggs and some bacon that need using up a couple of sausages and some beans with toast that will keep a certain person happy ;)

Talking of Milton it works a treat on green stuff on drives and pathways, bucket of water with it in a stiff broom and some elbow grease, comes off a treat and very OS as no need for pressure washers, good exercise too.
Or if you wait for a real good downpour and squirt it on then get the broom out its even better, need your wellies and rain gear on though :D

Better get sorted we are off shopping in a mo, need some paint for touching up the skirting in the little bedroom, then we can go order the carpet YIPPEE:j

    I've been Money Tipped!
Hester - my late mother had terminal cancer, and one afternoon we all gathered around, we borrowed an order of service from the church and she told us what she wanted. She even said which undertakers that she wanted used, and I had to phone and check that they would be happy to go across various boundaries. It made her feel comfortable because she knew things were in order.

The only snag was that she kept changing her mind about which hymns she wanted, so we had to go with our best guess. The lid didn't come off the coffin though, so she must have been happy.

I wish my darling father would do something similar. As I am going to have the dubious benefit of arranging the funeral of someone who is really not well known to me.

Anyway, this is a five minute sanity saver, almost up, as I am completely exhausted, I do not know how I am staying awake. I may take little bear out for a long walk, because I will be exhausted anyway and if I can't stimulate him then at least the surroundings will.

Also when I am this brain dead I can often get a lot done, because I just trundle.

  • Morning!

well managed to come back to earth today after yesterday's big news. We both feel like a massive weight is now off our shoulders.

So marching on today with my car in for MOT, OH is calling letting agent, council and virgin media to tell them we are leaving.
Going out for a couple of drinks tonight as it's a friends birthday. I am off tomorrow and Monday for Easter:j
Packed lunch today and more freezer rouletter later. Got to sew my skirt tonight as I ripped it getting out of car this morn:rolleyes: hope OH has not packed my sewing box yet!

Tru: I have been to Amsterdam 3 times with hockey and found the Dutch to very warm hospitable people. It's really nice there so don't worry!

Ruthie: Hugs to you. Been to 2 funerals myself this year, doesn't get any easier.

Sybil: Hugs to you and little bear, nappy rash and teeth coming thorugh, not a fun combo!

    Have a good day all!

(((WS))) sorry that you are trundling but sometimes trundling is enough and all that we can manage anyway. Going out with Little Bear sounds good - you could give him a list of things to find. I know he's little so you have to help but not too much effort needed...does he know his colours? If so, spot a red car. If not, then spot a lorry. Then maybe find a leaf - if you are happy for him to pick it up, fine, if not he just has to spot one. Then maybe a dog. Someone with a buggy. Have a little list with his name and take a pencil so he can see you tick each thing off. This will tire him out. Hopefully!!

Looks a bit overcast here but going off with the dogs in a minute. |Having 3rd cup of tea but the teacup is small!!

Hoping to organise myself to make soup from some of the veggie box from last week. I have been living on salads because for some reason I ended up with 5 lettuce(s??). Not all from veggie box. Anyway, might have to resort to putting that in soup as well.

DH rang this morning - I was a bit crabby with him as he rang last night at 11pm when I was sleeping.gggrrr. He is back on Mon night. I don't enjoy Bank Hol weekends when he's away but I'll just keep busy.

Hoping also to fill another bag for the charity shop. Also have the library to go to. Certainly no painting for me today. Muscles are a bit sore and I need a day off :).

    Have a good day everyone

Ruthie Sorry to hear your bad news and I hope that your MIL can get some relief from her pain asap.

Ruby Yes snags are sausages. I don't call myself veggie as I do eat fish. But I eat meat when I feel like it. Not that often really. I bought meat this week for DS2 & made a chicken dish as well tomorrow. I never buy anything baby like veal, lamb etc. I know, I know I'm pretty complicated. :D

Tea was lovely. DS2 at his brothers having a few drinks and DD tucked into bed not feeling very well. DH watching a bloodthirsty dvd & I"m relaxing with a red wine. :D Enjoy the rest of your day. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Morning campers

horrid weather outside but i am officially doing a tru! i had a flounce when i got back after watching the footie to find an utter mess and that dd's bf's mother and his siblings are joining us today after i had planned something else! I shall take a walk along the beach this morning and see where i end up. I always try to visit a castle when i'm away and send a picture to my dnephew(15) who has special needs and loves castles. He sends me a picture back of my very favourite thing - Captain Jack Sparrow! I sent him a picture of hastings castle yesterday but he was underwhelmed as it's a ruin

Celyn90 - I will be impressing fellow campers (and possibly The Perfect Gentleman) with omelette in a bag a la Trangia at the weekend so thanks for that :)

Hester - i have also planned my funeral and various other contingecnies about , DNRs etc and my dbro has the details. He is officially my next of kin as the girls have different views from me and each other and i want to avoid conflict for them. I have two songs fixed but phone him now and then to change my mind about the third. it's very simple, conducted by a humanist, eco friendly and with much wailing and gnashing of teeth. There was a horrible row over my stepfather's ashes so it taught me a lesson

anyhoo y'all have a good day

My friend that's a chef swears by the "wrapping stuff up in cling film and boiling the carp out of it" technique. He said that they also do poached eggs like that as it makes less mess - I like the idea of not having to clean the pan (or the kettle) :)

I saw some large sturdy looking metal mess-tins in Poundland yesterday afternoon, I would have bought a couple but I couldn't carry them. They had lots of camping kit that looked pretty solid. I might pop back in on the way to the station as we don't have one in Oxford

Have a great time on your trip :)
