Dishwasher tablets - how much do you use?

Do you rinse your plates before putting into dishwasher?, I find 1/2 a tablet doesn't always clean as well (I live in a hard water area, if that makes a difference), I use Finish tablets and don't put in extra rinse aid or salt.0

We use the dishwasher at least once a day- often 3 times a day at weekends- and a big bottle lasts us about 6 weeks
Obviously this doesn't help with your current 'halving' problem- but worth thinking about when you next need to stock up!
My OH loads the dw and it works out cheaper using tablets as he puts in soooo much powder. He can't be bothered to cut them in half but we get tablets from B&M so they are loads cheaper anywayPeople seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

i have been using the powder, its from tesco called daisy i think. i dont fill up to the line and very rarely have anything not come clean. i do have to make sure my salt is full though or it doesnt work properly. was thinking about trying the tablets but in my old dishwasher they didnt disolve properly so dont want to buy a box i wont use.Have a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0

Hi, just wanted to let people know that I have been using dishwasher powder as opposed to tablets for the past 6 months now and made huge savings. As with washing powder I find it better as you can regulate how much to use. Anyway, Aldi are seemingly discontinuing their diswasher powder and have reduced it from £3.99 to £2.99. My pack lasts me over 2 months! Bargain :money:0

I agree choccy. I have been using finish dishwasher powder from 99p stores for a few months now and it works out 1p a wash and still have clean dishes. I'm not so good with my washing powder as I do like my washing to smell nice and if you dont use so much it doesn't smell as nice imo.0
