Hi angelraesunshine,
There's a long thread worth reading that should answer any questions you have on dishwasher tablets, so I've added your thread to it to keep all the suggestions together.

Hi, I am glad this thread has resurfaced as was just about to ask a quick question.....
I remebered that some people are using normal washing powder in the dishwasher....we have just run out of dishwasher tablets and tobehonest cant be bothered to go to the shops until tomorrow, so my question is can I use my fairy non-bio tablets in the dishwasher and if so how much should i use?
thanks

just found the wonder of stardrops - in my local wilkinsons!
anyway, do you use it neat in the dishwasher - where do you put it, where the tablet would go, or just a squirt over everything before you turn it on?
thanksOk, ok, i need to go back onto Weightwatchers, lost 7 stone..... 2 back on, this has to change.....Help!!!:eek:0 -
Hi I just put a small squirt of stardrops in bottom of dishwasher before I put it on. At the moment I do also use a tablet as well, but to be honest I think it would be fine without the tablet. I am going to use dishwasher powder soon so I will try using about a third of what they say to use, with the stardrops.0

Hi - I am going to treat myself to a dishwasher - never had one before so dont know what exactly to use in it! There seems to be a mind boggling amout of different kinds of stuff!
I went on to mysupermarket and priced the cheapest dishwasher tablets at Tesco - Basics worked out at 5.9p per tablet - on special at the moment is Finish all-in-one tablets which work out at 9.8 per tablet.
Whats the difference between the 2? If I buy the cheaper stuff do I have to buy anything else? if so would it work out better value to stock up on the Finsh while its on offer? Do you have to use a whole tablet or can you be money saving and half it?
Or is there any kind of money saving tips to use anything cheaper?

Hi soon2bjobless,
There's an earlier thread on dishwasher tablets that should help answer your questions so I've added your post to it to keep the replies together.
