Dishwasher tablets - how much do you use?

To be honest, I use the Finish brand (OH insists) and can't notice any difference between 4 in 1, 5 in 1, or quantum. The 3 in 1 don't get the glass quite as clean but that's about the only difference I've seen between the brand ones - except for the fact the quantum ones don't always dissolve so you have sticky plastic bit left in the dishwasher with half the stuff still in it and half the contents of the dishwasher still dirty!!
Will be looking out for the replies to this as am tempted to try the Lidl ones (even though OH would object).working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

I've decided to use the tablets for ease of use. can anyone recommend a make to me their are so many. i was in Lidl today and they had adritt? 40 for £2.99 that seems to be a good price - are they any good?
Also i'm a member of costco I can get finish powerball 150 for £15 i know this is quite good value for the powerball ones but is it worth paying the extra - are they much better?
any opinions gratefully received. Thanks!
iv used the lidl adritt tablets and they work just as well as the finish ones, havnt tried them cut in half yet but that works well on the finish 5in1 tabs (that tip came from the forum but cant remember where!) ps lidl's washing powder and cleaning products generally are v good especially if you buy their expensive range (still cheaper than the big brands)0 -
Do I have to put extra salt in the machine too? The instructions arn't very good - or can i just put in a tablet?0

Thanks for confirming my worst fears about Quantums. I found the same thing happened with those Ariel plastic sachet things for the washing machince as they ruined a few things as I couldn't get the sticky bits off - I suspect DH overfilled the machine but still. So I have never bought the Quantums and boy are they expensive anyway. They would have to make the dinner as well as clean up after it! I am still on the 5in1 or 4in1 if I can't get hold of the 5s and stick to Finish as when I bought my first DW from Makro the member of staff there said to use Finish as the Makro own brand was rubbish. So other than once buying Tesco own brand I have stuck to Finish but I have been thinking maybe I have been a bit silly. I might give own brand another go. We are getting an Aldi here soon and I can't wait! Just wish they would hurry up and build it.0 -
I normally use the 5 in 1 tabs from lidl and I found them to be brilliant. Bought the glasses up really sparkly. This time I bought the asda ones and to be honest they aren't half as good in my opinion, there are funny marks left on my plates and glasses afterwards. I think i'll try lidl's too! Got 2 free finish ones with the dishwasher so will use those then go looking for some others. Still don't know what to do about the salt though!0

We live in hard water area and they say use salt anyway, even with the 5 in 1. I think it depends if you are in a soft water area or not?working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0

Wilkinson are doing bogof on 5 in 1 dishwasher tabs. It is £2.49 for 50, thats including the bogof. I haven't used mine yet so i can't say if they are any good though.
