im wondering if anyone has any advice,

i recently sent off my list of charges to lloyds asking for them to refund them back to me,a total of 3800 pound, anyway i got a response from them this morning in the post, but not the response i was hoping for as i am in financial hardship, it said the following-
thank you for contacting us recently,my complaint is being looked into by a lloyds team member and they expect to complete their enquiries and provide me with an answer within the next four weeks.

has anyone else received a letter like this and if so what was their
    outcome after four weeks.
does anyone have any suggestions what to do now, do i wait for them to get back to me or do i do another letter getting back to them saying for them to sort it out asap and refund me the full amount?? please help.

    Hi big al,

We have received not one, but about ten of those letters in the last few months from Lloyds:mad: That's apart from the slight variations on the same theme which amount to another similar number!

Definitely do as NWSM says and send them an I&E plus copies of all priority debt arrears notices etc.

Having said that, we did all the above and still keep getting the same response. Even asking for a Final Response letter after nearly 6 months has provoked the same standard reply.

I'm sure someone will disagree, but unfortunately Lloyds seem to be by far the worst at acknowledging Fianancial Hardship and paying anything back.

Good luck and don't give up,

Can't quite remember where we are with you lily so apologies but ask them for a Financial Difficulty closure letter which will explain their reasoning. Remind them that the FSA told them that they should do this in their letter dated 19th March 2009.
Under the FSA Waiver, they don't have to repay anything back, they can simply waive charges and interest for a period of time but they should assess you for hardship and give a clear yes or no to you. That is currently the bit that they appear not to do which is a pity as other banks appear to do......eventually ;)

thanks for that lily,i wil do as NWSM says and do an inc. and exp. form with list of arrears and prority debts, did u finally get refunded lily or did u hav 2 go thru the FOS?x
  • I hate these types of responses from banks. My opinion is to send them a letter with an income and expenditure(household) and notices of any arrears. I would wait but if they left a phone number then ring them every single day asking if they have made a decision

thanks 4 that, wil do exactly that,as they havnt enclosed a inc. and exp. form cud u advise me how to get one,is there a particular one that most people on here use and if so cud u provide me with a link to it,ur help is greatly appreciated, thank you again.

The above is a link to the Common Financial Statement so it should be what you need.

    Hi Nattie,

I'm 'Landy_alert' on CAG and don't really post as much on here, which is probably why you don't remember, LOL!

I'm the one who's had about a million letters from LTSB, but no Final Response yet!! I passed my complaint to the FOS and as you predicted they have asked LTSB to provide the FR letter - I wait with baited breath for it to arrive...........

    Regards,

    lily/landy x

    Hi big al,

    You're welcome;)

No, still waiting I'm afraid - it's nearly £10,000 so I can't imagine they're going to hurry themselves!

The FOS have recently asked LTSB to provide me with a Final Response as to why they believe we are not in Financial Hardship, but I have a feeling even the FOS will have trouble eliciting a response from LTSB!

    Regards,

  • Bank: HSBC BANK PLC

    Amount Reclaimed: £630

    Amount they paid: £630

How long did it take: 2 weeks and 2 days

The story: Sent claim letters in via recorded delivery on the 22nd July, phoned them on 27th July and went through Income/Expenditure with Financial Hardship team. On the 1st Aug, I recieved a letter from HSBC Bank PLC complaints department trying to fob me off so I phoned them straight away and spoke to Finacial Hardship team. They said that they had sent me an offer letter on the 31st July and that the letter I had recieved was a general one that gets sent to everybody and to ignore it. On the 4th Aug, I recieved an offer of the full amount!!! Sent signed form back recorded delivery on 5th Aug and this morning (6th Aug) ALL CHARGES RETURNED!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH MSE FOR HELPING ME DO THIS!!

Hi i just wanted to say that i put in a claim for financial hardship to Barclays about a month ago , They sent me a form to complete about my circumstances ( i am self employed and my business has taken a hit due to the recession ! STRANGELY ENOUGH MOSTLY CAUSED BY THE BANKS IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! and i was struggling to meet bills and incuring more charges ) i filled out the forms honestly and added the reasons why they should help .
Well today i checked my account online and guess what ...... ......................
THEY HAVE PUT £4351.25 INTO MY ACCOUNT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I nearly fell off the sofa .
So my advice is keep at them , they know the charges are unlawful and are unfair to the people most in need !
THANKS MARTIN IF I SEE YOU IN THE PUB I WILL BUY A PINT OR THREE XXXX
