  • Yay well done Kaz!
How awful about the photo's but at least you have some!
I'm glad the cake was good, glad I could help.
So pleased you had a lovely day.
  • Got the information brochure from the Elliot finally today but my daughter has decided to go with the Mons Calpe suite so it's ceremony in the botanical gardens then up in the cable car  to the suite.
I had fun reading the menu choices to my OH (who is a traditional roast and veg type of guy) he was totally flummoxed:rotfl:
Dd has 2 family weddings in the next fortnight so is busy with those, it's getting more and more real as more decisions are made!

    Thank you.

We still have 'the photographers' pics to see yet - hopefully this weekend so should get some good ones then as he took loads. His camera takes about 5 pics each time you press the shutter so that you can pick the best expression. The first ones will be nervous, more nervous, even more nervous, shaking and more shaking :o

Glad things are coming together for you

  • Hi Kaz...Hows married life?

Im ok, Simons been put on 2.5 half days till Xmas which isnt good but luckily we haven't got much to pay out for the next couple of months. All the chrimbo pressies are sorted.

I'v sorted a few things, we ordered the BMs dresses and they all had their first fittings which was fun, iv got their tiaras...the kids have had cheapo ones from Claires and my 2 best friends have had gorgeous headband things from the bridal shop that mine and their dresses are from.

I need to get my finger out and book the Elliot Hotel for the night before the wedding, thats for me, the bms, mom and Si's mom and step dad. Iv been in to see them so got prices and stuff sorted.

Mom came over and took a load of decs back with her, I can see my case being abut 50kg if im not careful lol.

Think thats about it...When Christmas has gone I know its going to pass in a flash.

Hope you're ok. Hope Sal and her daughter are too xxxxx

  • Hi guys,

bit of a hiatus here, although we now have the brown linen suits for the guys and a cream one for the groom they are gorgeous! See my post reccommending the ebay shop they came from.
Dd got a bit upset recently when her partner's family said they couldn't afford to go (they've known for nearly a year!), she felt awful arranging a wedding knowing his siblings wouldn't be there when her family was. Silly thing is their sis in law said they couldn't go then said that if they'd had the wedding in this country they were going to give them 1k towards it - use it to go to Gib then!!!!
Dd was rather ill over half term so we didn't get done what we had planned but we think we've found dresses for the bm's in exactly the colour she wants! They're on ebay though so we're having a good long think, plus one of the bm's has been conspicuous by her absence since being asked officially (you always get one!) so dd is waiting for her to get in touch before she asks for measurements.
The 'man of honour' and myself are about to give her a kick re invitations, they need to be done for just after Christmas and she hasn't chosen a design yet! Not the greatest decision maker my daughter.lol
The Easyjet flights have gone on sale so we're going to book ours as soon as we have the ok from granddaughter's mum that she can definately go (of course she is going but you have to go through the motions!).
It'll be all systems go once Christmas is out of the way, I'll personally put a bomb behind her! lol
    Wish me luck!
    xxx

    Hi Guys,

I hope you don't mind me adding to your thread. OH and I are hoping to get hitched next year in Gibraltar at the Gardens.

I was wondering if any of you used a wedding planner? I feel like I can do it all myself but was't sure if there are any benefit?

We just want to get married and then go for a meal in a restuarant.

Also because of time constraints we want to either get married near the end of August or half term week in October (25th?). Does anyone know what the weather is like in October. I did ask the gardens what they do if it rains and they said we could then get married in the Papyrus room?

(And congrats to Kaz on her wedding, she looked absolutely stunning!):T
  • Hi Emmielou

No none of us are using a planner (as far as I know). Sal's daughter is having her reception in Gib, wheres mine is back in Spain so she your lady about that lol.

Weather is not bad in Oct, infact this year its been really really warm in Oct. Patrcia showed me the room they were building for if it rains, its plenty big enough for 13 guests and the plans they had made it sound as if it was going to be really nice.

The gardens are sooo gorgeous, I cant think of anywhere more lovely to marry the man you love....I know I cant wait.

    Do you know Gib?

Good luck and welcome to the Gib club lol x

    Love Chris xx

    Hi Chris,

I have been to Gib before, however I was only small but I do remember the apes! Lol!

We both wanted a small wedding that avoided the extended family!:p I don't know how I came across the gardens but they were just perfect as we love gardens.
