They're a nightmare arnt they!! Worse than Spain for being laid back lol xx
  • Ha, they must've heard my complaint! lol
I rang the Elliott about 5 days ago and was promised the wedding co-ordinator would ring me back, well she did - today!!!
I've now got to wait about 3 days for the brochures to arrive, talk about manyana!!!
I'm finding it very wierd that they are so laid back about deposits as well, over here nothing will be done until money has been handed over but there all you have to do is confirm the booking and off you go!

My photographer didnt want a deposit, i'v been to see him twice to check coz I was really nervous about it but when I went the 2nd time the booking was def in his dairy.

We're all staying at the Elliott the night before the wedding, I saw a lady called Pat there and she seemed very nice. I can remember staying there when I a kid, it was the Holiday Inn then.

    Sal

Are you still having hand fans? xx
  • I think so, DD hasn't looked at the various options yet, ie fanfare uk or chinese sellers on ebay etc. but we have sourced the wrist corsages.
We've just found the bm dresses but they're on light in the box so we're now trying to find out if they're as reliable as Landy! Of course the colour isn't right but we can't seem to find the exact colour anywhere!
So, the bm's will be having wrist corsages of mango calla lily and small white roses and carrying white fans as far as I know!
DD is in shock, she's make 2 major decisions in a week and has had to go for a long lie down! lol

    Hi Ladies

    I'm back and married :D

Everything is definitely laid back in Gib  (and yes they do answer the phone eventually) but the day was a success, some things didnt go to plan, nothing drastic but theres no point worrying about them.

Thanks to Herbiecat and sal-ad-daze for all your help.

I will update and post pics as soon as I can but so far I only have a few from my little bro (big bro who's a bit of a David Bailey managed to reformat his SD card and wiped over 200 photos :o)

    Thanks Herbie.

The food we had was amazing. We had a served starter and dessert with a buffet for main (mix of hot and cold), it was £25 per head and there was soooo much of it, a family of pigs would not have gone hungry. It was lovely having the meal on the terrace a really beautiful location. The restaurant & drinks service was faultless, discreet but always there to top you up.

After drinking with our friends who were staying in the same hotel we finally got to bed at 3am

It was a beautiful day and VERY hot even with a 5pm ceremony, our poor photographer friend had to go and change his shirt!

Hair appt was 230 which I put back to 3pm (she said she was running late anyway) as I felt 230 was too early. I went back at 3 and she said to come back at 330 which I did so she finally started at 4.05 with me trying desperately not to panic . I still had my make up to do at that stage and obviously dress.

I was incredibly nervous once I had my dress on and had to go down which I was annoyed with myself as it showed according to the rellies, they could see me physically shaking :o

Unfortunately our carefully chosen songs couldnt be heard as they didnt have the music loud enough which I was a little disappointed at and things flowed Gibraltar/Spain style  but it was very relaxed.

Oh and the whole point of wanting to get wed in the sun was I wanted to have photos taking walking on the beach - and I forgot to tell our friend who was our photographer  but nothing matters now because after 12 years together (and 7 engaged) we finally did it :rotfl:

And we didnt see any apes at all this time

ETA Flowers from Stephanies were beautiful and still hadnt died when we left yesterday
Cake from kelvin and mandy was gorgeous - I took the remaining piece back to the apartment, wrapped it and froze it and brought it back to take into work tomorrow. Its still lovely and moist (coffee sponge).
Hair - done in the hotel
Make up - I did my own in the 5 minutes I had to spare !!!
