I just want my risk assesment done asap, so i can get things sorted haha.
I know im only 6 weeks, but still :)

My doctor has told me to tell them to do the assessment based on my gp's advice, and if they dont she'll give me a sick note to request i work shorter hours or early shifts so i can get a sleeping and eating pattern haha.

Hopefully they'll listen to that :D

I LOVE Dexter i think its sooo cute/yummy/fab :D only neg I have is Charlotte Church :undecided although I very much doubt she'll still be around in 5 or 10yrs :o
She's the only reason I'm leaning more towards Gabriel... Hubby is really keen on Dexter, but I don't want the baby to end up in a class with a load of Heat magazine readers children of the same name lol... On the other hand, I have a friend with a son already called Gabriel... But he's the same age as Aimee so I guess it's OK to use...
My midwife told me off for this - said it has to be a first morning sample to be accurate.
I've never been told this, and keep forgetting to do my sample... If the pots not right in front of me when I'm peeing then all is lost... Midwife usually asks me if I can manage one while I'm there... You should see some of the pitiful dribbles I've presented them with, but they always seem to be able to test them... Incidentally, that's one of the ways childbirth ruined me the first time... I could always pee on demand with Aimee and had such great aim it always went in the pot no mess... Nowadays I can't seem to pee at all... And when I do it sprays off in all directions... Hence the pitiful dribble and a damp hand!

Well Aimee's easter holidays have started terribly... Whatever she was suffering with 2 weeks ago is still lingering on, only now she's complaining about earache... So I got her in the Dr's this morning to see the nurse for 'triage' she couldn't find anything wrong.. So asked for a water sample and told me to bring her back Wednesday if there's no change... Which will be great... Dr's is a 20min walk down the bottom of a hill... I wasn't keen on going today... And I have the midwife tomorrow so have to go back then anyway... Don't relish the idea of doing it all again Wednesday... Bloomin kids!

Oh, and my fingers have never been slender but are now pretty much sausages... My wedding rings are now on a chain around my neck for fear of having to have them cut off....
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...

That isn't your problem... there is special mention in one of the many articles - I'll try to find it - about people working in hot environments like kitchens as the heat can be damaging to you and your baby. Speak to your GP ASAP!

Feelie- glad you had a good weekend - have you managed to look at car seats yet?

Had a look online, and it made me feel very stupid! It all seems so confusing, so many different bases and seats, different names at different shops, confusing installation guides (Green smiles, yellow smiles, triangles, 2 point isofix, 3 point isofix - argh!). Local stores (5 closest ones up North and my closest 5) don't have the right combination of seat and base (either Maxi-Cosi or Britax) in stock.

Do I order online and fit myself and hope it comes in time, drive further to somewhere that has them in stock, get them to order it or refuse to let the baby out for a while?

Welcome and congratulations to LCK and Daisy!!

Elle and SB - I'm going to the baby show at the NEC, is that the one you're talking about? Is it better to go Saturday or Sunday? We were planning to go on Saturday as we will have to stay with my parents and come back Sunday night so OH can go to work on Monday.

I'm pretty certain I want a pram from Mamas and Papas and I'm not sure they'll be at the show anyway, and I've only been able to find two cribs that I want (that attach to my bed) so I doubt I'll be making any big purchases there anyway.

Saaaaamiiii - cos you ignored the list I posted my EDD is wrong :( I updated myself when I posted it, to be July 24. Can you change it please if you don;t like other people posting the list? :)

Well, I have spent most of the monring cleaning the bathroom - AFTER OH cleaned it yesterday! He was up there for ages but all he seems to have done is wipe the bath and sink! I've had to scrub the taps, wipe the outside of the sink and toilet, clean the tiles, clean the floor, clean the window, wipe down the cupboard handles, clean the towel rail, clean the actual toilet bowl...!

I mean, what on earth was he DOING up there all that time?

And my parents were supposed to be dropping in to see me and can;t cos the M25 is all blocked up and they need to get home :( Grrr.

Hopefully this afternoon will be better!

Mine are on my bedside table for the same reason... struggle getting them on and off grrrr
    Hope Aimee gets better soon.

Oh and a 20 minute walk at the moment? no chance! I'd never make it!

I have to have mine on a chain, it was hubby's condition of me being 'allowed' to take them off lol...

And I'm glad (in a nice way) that I'm not the only one struggling with walking... I have a friend who is 2 weeks behind me at the minute and she's sickeningly spritely... Makes me feel positively unfit! Getting there was OK because it was all downhill and I knew there'd be seats at the end... Coming back up the hill was awful... We went via the shops for milk and I made sure Aimee wanted to walk on the wall so Mummy could sit at the end and wait for her!

  • Thanks MrsTine, its not as if there arent other jobs i could be doing, although they do involve carrying big fat turkeys and cast iron pots of veg around! i was going to try to keep on going for the next 8 weeks, im 17 weeks now and from what ive read i think between now and 25 weeks is when they will calculate my SMP / MA from so i want to work as many hours as poss, once im 25 weeks i will ask to cut the 13 hour shift to around 9 hours. im going to have a read up now though of any possible risks to baby from the heat or me overdoing it.

Sami - if you are going to update the EDD list, can you please change my EDD to 20th September? I want to bring it forwards not move it back, but suppose I had better stick with my scan EDD date! I was going to do it myself, but if you are doing Skintchick's anyway!! x

Midwife appt went fine - got to hear baby's heartbeat. And in the end, she said she didn't need a urine sample this time! I usually try to take the first wee of the morning as when I had a suspected kidney infection, they were very definite about getting the first of the morning as it is less diluted with water/tea/other drinks etc and therefore more accurate.
