no one bothers to say which shop they refer to now, as its always costco. I wish the regulator would take makro off the title as its frustrating for us makro lot to see there is a new post but its never for us. Please could someone do this?

Well why aren't all these Makro members posting their offers??

Btw, I tried Croydon for the Kirkland Shearling boots on Tuesday I think it was. My niece got a pair, but no size 6 in chocolate brown at all. They had lots of 4, 5 and 7s. Mostly in the camel/tan colour. HTH

Should we perhaps start a new thread?

    "The Costco Thread" maybe?

Then all the Makro members won't get annoyed at us with our fantastic offers all the time :D

You've got to be joking :rotfl: :rotfl:

On the contrary. I buy far more items from MAKRO than I do from Costco despite Costco being only half a mile away and my local Makro is 15 miles at least.

Makro has a huge range and choice that Costco couldn't even come close to scratching the surface of, most items that exist in BOTH stores are cheaper at Makro and frequently Costco are beaten by Asda, Tesco, Sainsburys & Morrisons - 2 of which I drive by to get to Costco and a 3rd only a very short detour on route.

Very few things worth going to Costco for.

I just went to join Costco. Took my payslip proving i'm a teacher, got in line to join and then realised I also needed a utility bill - b***er! Oh well at least my nearest Costco is only 10 minutes drive away, but i wish they would put more joining info on their website. All the utility bills are in my husband's name so I hope they don't get awkward about me taking a bank or credit card statement instead!

Not sure when you got yours but today they are £12.99 +VAT (= £15.26)

I just bought another 8 of the Zuru straps at £9.99 +VAT from Costco in Bristol.

I may be wrong but I think you could still have joined without a utility bill provided you brought it in next time (the store would put a system memo on your card so that cashiers remind you until you do), the only downside being you can't pay by cheque until you do as they can't be certain of your address. Credit/bank statements are not accepted.

Thanks, yes I discovered that when I went back later in the day. The first time I just went by what it said on the huge display above the customer service desk and there was a huge queue so I didn't think to ask.

Anyway, I am now a fully fledged individual COSTCO member and had great fun filling my trolley. My best finds were CIF bathroom spray (£5.49 plus vat for 3 plus a further coupon discount), and a huge tub of schwarz season-all for £3.15 plus vat (my default seasoning - I get through a small pot of this nearly every month so now i can just refill and save LOADS!!!

It was forum contributions that encouraged me to go and join so thanks all!
