My MIL uses the opticians at ours with no complaint, I haven't used them myself though - which leads me to ask; what sort of priced frames do they have? Are they all designer?
I've never really looked:eek: shock horror!
I've seen "kirkland" frames, going on Wednesday so will price them up then and let you know!0 -
I've just bought a new TV PANASONIC TXL26X20B 26" HD Ready LCD £293 from Costco with VAT where it is £400 in Currys all but a penny. Now I have the tricky task of connecting it up to cable, DVD & video! Actually have done most of it just need to retune the other bits to it.
which Costco was that in? I've been looking for the TXL26X20 but B'ham Costco had none today - the only thing they had on their system was the TXL26C20 at £293 - ta0 -
Has anyone ever used the Costco Opticians?
Need to get my eyes tested and wondering how good (or not) they are.
Have used Reading and Bristol. Bristol optician Steve is superb - he convinced me to go for contact lenses something I thought I would never do. Eye tests are free. Lens fitting/aftercare is £12/year. Now I have Focus Dailies which I got for 44p/pair with a special offer - they are over £1 on the high street. My wife gets her monthly lenses from there, paying around £60 for 6 months supply compared with £30/month that she was paying at the local opticians. I have a couple of pairs of Costco-supplied glasses, one designer frame, one Kirkland frame. Both are excellent.0 -
John West Mackerel fillets in tomato sauce 10x125g tins £6.29 (62.9p each) is cheaper than tesco own brand too
My dogs like the tinned mackerel and sardines.
Tinned fish is always good value.
10 x John West 130g tuna in brine = £4.99 (50p/can). Compare with Tesco 3 cans at £3.50
12 x John West 130g no-drain tuna = £4.97 (41p/can). Compare with Tesco 3 cans at £3.000 -

Croydon. I'd give them a ring. I had been debating for a while so rang before I went and was told how many in stock. Still very pleased with my purchase.0 -
They do 2 different types, a cow and a buffalo. We get the cow as it's much cheaper and we're not discerning enough to notice the difference. The cow comes in a bag of 5 100g balls, each individually packaged, for £2.15. Brand name is Latbri. The buffalo comes in a large tub of watery brine and the balls are loose. You get around 5 for about £4.50.
They also do massive bags of grated.
Hope that helps!
Thank you that is a great help I will be going for the cow one too by the time my daughter has stuffed chicken fillets with it everyone will think its the best anyway!!0 -

not good at all for eating fresh & salads, but is fine for cooking with, especially pizza as it makes them less soggy
it's in the chiller cabinets beside the huge blocks of cheddar & red liecester (sp)0 -

Did you ever try? Why not get a lens fitting - you'll get lots of practice with the optician and will come aware with five or so pairs of lenses to try for a few days. I used to recoil with horror watching my wife put in lenses, but Steve convinced me that riding a motorcycle while wearing lenses is a lot more practical than glasses which can steam up, fall off or get snagged as you take your helmet off. I was genuinely surprised at how easy it is.
Yes, a few attempts, none have been successful0
