    Hi,

I have recently been told by my work that I get a discount on costo membership, they say I can have 2 cards for £25.00, do you think that a good deal. How much is normal membership? Is membership worth the the fee?:)

    Thanks, naomi

    No discount there

The annual membership fee for Standard Individual Membership is £25 (plus VAT), which includes a complimentary card for your spouse or partner.

    Trade Membership Application
The annual membership fee is £20.00 (plus VAT) for the primary cardholder, which includes a spouse card.
The first six additional cards are £12.00 (plus VAT) each.
Each additional card thereafter is £20.00 (plus VAT).

£25.00 +vat is the normal non trade membership cost.So it's the normal price unless the £25.00 includes the vat.

What are the prices at Costco for coffee? I'm thinking of buying it in bulk and hopefully saving loads.

I'm currently employed by a local government so qualify for a card but I will be losing my job in a few months. If I buy a card now before my employment ends will I still be to renew my card next year as a pre-existing member.

    Many thanks

They never ask for any proof of your entitlement when you renew your membership.

When it comes up it flags up when they scan your card at the till and they ask you there if you want to renew so you can just pay it with your shopping.

Although as we think they read this thread, that policy may now change :(

I'm pretty sure they are savvy enough at Costco to know this sort of thing goes on.

I cant see how folk at checkout will have time to ask and check for paperwork.

Every year we have been a member, since 2000, we have also had a letter to fill in send back with payment to renew membership. This doesnt ask for more proof either.

Is there an "official" explanation why Costco has membership rules.

(I could make some suggestions myself but I would be interested in the public relations explanation)

I'm not doubting it,... we all just found it a bit odd that as soon as we mentioned we were getting into stores earlier, they started checking :rotfl:
