I am a member of both - I found Makro membership easier than Costco to be honest. If you are registered self employed, all you have to bring in is a letterhead and a business card and a Utility Bill at the address, which obviously will just be your personal one.
I am German, so I prefer Makro for the availability of German foods, and in general I find Makro cheaper than Costco. But I do read the mail-shots before planning a trip to make sure that I go whenever something is on special deal that I need a lot of (last time it was Charming Toilet paper at £4.50 for 27 rolls) - I find neither exactly cheap for day-to-day grocery items, but some massive bargains can be had on things like washing powder, cat food, and general bathroom items.
The only reason I joined Costco was for their own brand cling film (it works like shrink wrap, but at half the price) and for sugar. But I figured I never saved enough over the year to off set the £20.00 fee plus extra petrol to go there. I just use Makro now.0 -
I do not qualify for membership at makro where I do for costco and suspect thats the case for a lot of people hence more people use costco.0

Hi Purple kitten, I had vouchers posted to me a few days ago for offers from 13th June-3rd July. If you want me to list a few of the offers then let me know.0 -

Was looking into this too and they are really trying hard to get into Farnborough. I would love it if they manage it as I would then only be 15 minutes away0 -

Make sure you put in a supporting statement at the planning portal!
(I put one in last time which was how I got notification from Rushmoor this time I think!)
I'll PM you the planning portal web address to view it and put in a statement0 -
Does Costco just get one bulk of promotional stuff (i.e. the leaflet with the vouchers in) each date and when it's gone, it's gone?
Other half went to get the Yorkshire teabags yesterday (going by the last post a bad day anyway!) and none left.
Also wanted to get Sunmaid raisins, we got them the first time we went, but haven't seen them since, so just wondered if some things were on sale there just occasionally or we were just unlucky?0
