  • How did OingoBoingo manage to read the question, search for the answer and post on here, all within 2 minutes of the question being released? I mean either this person is ridiculously good at their interent searching (I found the result having trawled through the wiki page on Winston Churchill), is incrediablly good at their history (especially recognising their Lancaster Dukes)

    OR...

    theres something perculiar going on...

I agree! there is something strange going on! if you want my advice, dont use oingo's correct answers...use your own correct answers just to be on the safe side! thanks for pointing this out! you win at internet!

Have you noticed something else slightly strange ...???

    The Hours Competition
    The Competition Hours
    Hours The Competition

Red, red, and red - sometimes

Or am I just so new to all this that I don't know about font colour options??

    just wondering...?

Not trying to blow my own trumpet but it took me about 2 minutes - I googled "November 1915 January 1916" (not in quotation marks) and the first of the results that came up was the Wikipedia 'Coalition Govenment' page. The dates for the holders of the Duchy of Lancaster matched the pictures and Winston Churchill matched the spaces in the clue - Plus The Hours lyrics seem to name check people that you would expect to see on posters sold in WHSmith - Ali, Sedgwick, Churchill, Che etc etc. So not that spooky really. Logged on here to see if anyone had already posted.

The weird one was Pugsley29 answering Chiaroscuro an hour or so before the question should have been released.

I wonder if there's the potential for a new rash of annoyance about potential covert Guardian employees giving out answer to their own competition!!?? Grrrr!!!! (:rotfl:)

I too found the answer very quickly last night (sometimes it takes me a bit longer:eek:) I was going to post it but OingoBoingo is just a tad faster then me. :o
So I went and did a few more comps and then decided to post the facts behind the answer. My typing is a 'lot' slow, but I went and found the main listing for the Chancelors, copied & pasted first the name, then the date of entry into office, the the date of leaving for all three individually. I had done this by 12.20 so whats the problem with OngioBoingo speed of answering.

Its because he lives a lonely life with nothing to do but wait till 12 o'clock at night to input the answers....you see he was neglected as a child, regularly being locked in the under stairs cupboard, which means he now craves for the attention he was starved of as a child and aches to be accepted.

His life sadly revolves around wanting to get as many thanks for his posts as possible!!
  • oh skinback please? What are you on about?

I would have thought oingoboingo lives quite a fulfilled life but happens to like competitions and winning and everyday on here (or nearly every day) he does win - at being the first to post the answer.

Thanks for the suggestion Eyeball Paul - but I tried that the day after when I was back online and got no reply. I didn't really expect a reply. Has anyone been able to post a late entry?

Can you imagine the rage and fury on here if the rules were relaxed?
