Muffy i am really surprised at your post......
reading the Daily Star when there's loads of comps in the Daily Mail! :rotfl: I would also love to sell it if I win to get me over this credit crunch but my OH says he would like to keep it
Thanks dum_de_dum_dum I got the glass bit right but was too dim to work out Philip!Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!0 -
I get it now, I really do. I've done troll/sarcastic posts but this isn't one of them because I understand. Tabbycat14's post helped. I can appreciate the rationale behind this thread. I'm not joking.
However (!), where I think the problem lies is the thing tabbycat14 mentioned "Which is to allow people interested in the competition to compare their thoughts, feelings and ideas about the answers for the competition" is just not happening.
32,000 views so far and almost 200 messages, the majority of which have either been about the right/wrong of publishing the answers or just the daily answer. Much as I (honestly) admire the altruism behind this thread I do think 99% of visitors are just turning up to get the answer for no effort and contributing zero to the whole exercise.
So, pro-answers-being-posted-people, please accept that I get where you're coming from and I don't think it's wrong.0 -
I find this quite an interesting thread to look at.
Don't want to get involved with the bicthing though,
Just a big thank you to OP and all those posting the answers.
Your hard work is appreciated!
I won't be winning the big prize as I missed out a day.
I thought I could complete a few days at a time as you could at the beginning of comp.
But I was wrong. I didn't realise that answers had to be submitted on the day, just thought the question would only be on display for 24 hours.
I contacted them using the email on provided to ask if there was anyway I could go back to a missed answer. I was expecting a straight forward NO, but had a very friendly reply.
My request would be put forward to the relevant person but they couldn't promise anything.
Interestingly, they had had quite a few similar requests so I'm not that daft.
I really hope that the OP or one of the answer providers win this comp.
If not, I would really like to see a MSE member win.
Eyeball Paul
PS over 10,000 fully complete entries so far to this compthanks to all posters

Although I have not been entering this competition (still recovering from the Faber & Faber Times quiz) I would like to thank you all for putting a huge grin on my chops this morning
.... with threads like these.... Who needs soaps!
Nice to see so many different mse'ers jumping in and helping with answers where they can. I am sorry to learn that some "upset" has been caused to a small minority.
Nevertheless - Just passing through to wish "YOU ALL" the very best of luck with the competition and to let all my mse chav buddies know that I am still very much constipated
Have an enjoyable "Bonk" Holidays! Off to relax on the beach and watch the Power Boat Racing today...

Hi, I got the answer by figuring out the code - partially. But what am I doing wrong with the last part of the clue? And which two letters are missing? 'Quick Brown Fox' doesn't fit the same as the rest as fox has three letters - the answer it seems has four.0
