    Hi all

Hockey - am so pleased that your OH is ok. What a worry.

beth - it sounds like you're always there for your DD. She is so lucky to have you.

Only one day left at school for me before the Easter hols. :j :j We've got the "Easter Hat Parade" tomorrow morning, followed by making chocolate "nests" and the Easter church service. It's all going on in our little infants school.

I have a long list of jobs for the holiday. I really could start it now, but I don't know where to start.... Obviously I'm hoping to see my mum at some point, but I'm currently a little under the weather and don't want to jeopardise her health any more than it is already!

The most important job that I WILL have to do tonight is meal planning for the next fortnight and then going shopping at Mr Ts tomorrow night after work. I've got a stack of extra points vouchers that I need to use before Monday (when they run out). It's all stuff that I need anyway, but I must remember to take them with me.

Supper tonight will be chilli con carne, which I removed from the freezer this morning. I think it's the last lot of my Jamie Oliver recipe, which means that I need to make some more. :D

    Have a good night all.

    Vicky x

(((hugs))) to NoahsPennilessMum - I have experience with autism, personal and professional so I understand how difficult life can be. I attended a talk by Roz Blackburn(think thats right) who was brilliant and made things a lot easier to understand.
Dont hide away, you need to talk about it. PM me for a chat if you like. x

Hubby has 2 more weeks at work, so is pleased with that, I was meant to finish lunchtime today, but was still there at 4, still, better than first part of the week when I was there til 5, back in tomorrow & Monday & then that's it.
PP & Smokey, hope you both have a good break. HD & TM, glad your loved ones are safe. Hugs to Noahs mum.

    Evening all -

back on the OS wagon big time after a hectic couple of weeks so did a weekly meal plan and lugged it all home, bungied onto bikey for the most part - stupid me - we're on holiday from monday - I quite literally forgot. Can you tell that i'm not really looking forward to it. Might be able to have a bit of a cook-up at the weekend and take some "ready meals" with us - d'oh!
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

    Evening all :hello:

Pork steaks for tea with new potatoes and tarragon carrots, if my energy levels keep up I think I will do a couple of trays of cupcakes whilst stacking the dishwasher. I want to do some vanilla ones with raspberry jam in the middle. (End of term - they won't last.) DD2 wants a fishfinger sandwich now... I suspect a growth spurt :D

Wannabee Sybil - Metanium is very good - but it stains clothes so do be careful with the application! (And it worked on DS 23 years ago, with no problems so you know it's tried and tested... as does egg white, although this is not medical advice as there are people with egg allergies.)

Betheebee I'm another who never had the parental back up and when my Ex-DH left me with 3 children had to do it all for myself. (Although financially, I am very private so I probably would have done this anyway..) Anyway, eight years on we still have an unblemished mortgage payment reputation, even though we went from two incomes to one. This isn't to say I didn't have to negotiate every other payment on the phone until my debtors accepted the new situation, which made me look at my spending in whole new ways. I am so glad you are supportive of your DD, but in the right way IYKWIM :T

HockeyDuo and TiredMum - My heart was in my mouth reading your posts, I am so glad all turned out well.

Smokey - I hope Cornwall is fabby - you all deserve it - let me know how the journey goes as I would like to try it but was reluctant due to travelling times.

NoahsPennilessMummy - *hugs* as you suspect I have no real idea, but can only imagine.

    Hugs for all x

Beth - awww bless. Just remember your daughter has you to come to and that's great. I have confidence yous can sort it all out and manage it together with your help

Sunnygirl - thanks! It's just me on my own, so i do sometimes wonder if Im doing ok

Noahsmummy - bless. Its ok to feel frustrated and as you can see theres a great network of support here for you.

    Smoky - enjoy hols!

Going to check dinner. Defrosted chicken casserole, mixed with pasta, topped with cheese and oven baked. I am dubious but i remember the casserole was beaut!
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

  • thanks everyone for all the support:D

I don`t really like moaning about it but sometimes it gets to me. It is a huge learning curve and although DS has been diagnosed 3 years now I still have times when he is doing something odd and I sit there and think what on earth am I supposed to do now:confused:
it is easier now OH is with us..(he must be an absolute looney to put up with us lol)..just after DS was diagnosed ex DH left us and I was on my own with DS for a year and boy that was tough:eek:
I feel like everyone else is really looking forward to the easter hols and I want to enjoy them with DS but it is a tough call.....everywhere is busy so cant take him anywhere very successfully and he hates the disruption to his usual routine.
it is a different experience to usual parenthood.....eg I always thought my child would sit at the table with us at mealtimes but DS cant tolerate the noise of the cutlery or any chat at the table or noises when eating etc.
sometimes it feels like we walk around on egg shells in the house for fear of something upsetting him.
I adore my boy he is the most important and most wonderful thing in my life and that is why i try so hard for him. even though it is hard at times I wouldnt change a thing.
