Sybil, souffle potatoes are yum? Bake as normal, scoop out insides and mix in bits of veg, cheese, meat, what ever you have. Fold in stiff ish egg white , put back in pots, and top with cheese and put back in over or grill until cheese melted.
Gorg and can be made with what ever in the fridge. Last time i used scallions, peppers, sweetcorn and bacon and cheese. HTH.A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Oh Dear,
I've been in tears with all the kind mentions in posts regarding DD1 and her debts, what a great bunch you are. Everyone has given so many possitive suggestions and allowed me to bend ears.
I have sent DD1 links to MSE on coping with debt, also links to DMP (debt management plan) CCCS (consumer credit counselling service) all free services. What would I do without MSE?
I spoke to her and told her to phone all creditors and ask them to freeze interest and explain her situation. Can but try.
I'm angry that it's happened again yet know how she has struggled to bring up DGD1 and has done a fantastic job, her ex husband lives abroad and has never paid a penny, doesn't even send DGD a b/day card.
DD1 said she came to me for advice as she knows/thinks I am savvy re- finances, she assured us that no way would she want us to clear the debts.
She has been very upset and feels ashamed to be in such a mess, I have to explore every avenue for her to sort things out but in the end if it means her health suffers I will step in. For now I have made it clear that the bank of M&D is closed. Hard but it has to be done.
ZIPPY CHICK, I'm full of admiration for you, you have coped so well with very little or no help. You should be very proud of yourself. I hope you will find another job before September, fingers crossed for you. x
My parents, like your DM never helped in anyway, they wouldn't come to our wedding and didn't see DD1 until she was 4mths old, when they divorced my DDad had so much debt that DH & I used our home as security untill all debts were cleared.
I would do anything for DH, DD's & DGD's as they are my world.
Sorry to have whinged, promise to be more OS tomorrow, must go and load WM with a ton of handkies. Bless you all x0 -

Gosh thanks
I hoped it didn't read as harsh as it was actually a compliment to you to be honest. I think it's great she has came to you. It's never easy and at least she trusts and values you enough to tell you and ask for support and help. Bless her. I know it's no consolation but at least she didn't run up a silly debt like many others do (shoes and handbags etc)
You're not whinging at all. Get yourself a nice cup of tea and go rest in that lovely fresh air outside! ((((((hugs))))))A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Betheebee
The fact that she can talk to you speaks volumes. It also sounds as if she is doing a good job on her own with her daughter trying to be both Mum and Dad to her. If she has had a "lighbulb moment" then you can build on this.
Sybil
Have you tried Sudocreme or Camomile or Calendula ointment for LB?
I was at my wits end when I finally discovered Metanium and it was a godsend.
Nipping out to buy more polish etc to spruce up the house tomorrow ready for Saturday's viewing.
Have ulterior motive as if we get moved I have a better chance of getting DH to retire earlier than he plans. Evil chortle!!! It's for his own good!!!!! Honest!

Have a lovely holiday - you and the children deserve it."This site is addictive!"

Hi all
Not been on for a while as have been just shutting myself away trying to cope with DS`s behaviour:rolleyes:
HockeyDuo am so pleased your OH is safe......like others I thought of you as soon as I heard the news.
Betheebee you should be very proud of what a good mum you must be...your DD`s obviously feel they can come for help and support.
Tired mum glad it all turned out ok in the end....must have been awful for you.
well we have just had lamb and mint sausages from the farm and boulangere potatoes and cabbage,,was fab:T
DS has really upset me today....he wanted pink buns so I made them ready for him coming in and had bought him a dvd of a programme he likes......was looking forward to him getting them after school..well he had a bite of the bun and said it wasnt right and then threw the dvd at me shouting that he didnt like it:o I know it is just the autism but sometimes the fact that I cant treat my son to things lik other parents can really gets to me. It really is a different life.....we are all going without sleep too at the mo:rolleyes:
Its World Autism Awareness Day today....sometimes I wish I could film 24 hours in our life to educate the public as to what autism is like.
Enough moaning others on here have real problems:o
will catch up with thread tomorrow
hugs to all

Zippy Chick :T :T I'm another one who is full of admiration for you working out your financial probs. I wish I'd been better at it for the first 18 years of marriage - we've been married 20 years now. We needed help from my parents on many occasions, both emotional & financial and now that we're paying off debt and managing it's a great feeling. If my kids all grow up to be as savvy as you I'll be very pleased :A0

This morning we were up fairly early. The chap from the council came and explained that he had not been given the correct parts to do the doors, so they were being left until after we have handed in the keys.
Hopefully the bed is being picked up tonight or tomorrow so we are sleeping at the new place as from tonight…….more stuff moved this morning and boxes packed to go in the car for us to take over later. We have also packed enough clothes for us to use……..
OH has an appointment with the consultant from his month long stay at Glenfield last year, so we are dressed ready for the transport to pick us up.
I stripped the bed and its all in the dryer now, towels in the washer. I need to see about some shelves in the airing cupboard, we might have some wood at the allotment and I will see what I can blag for the slats.
My drill is on charge so I can start and put things up. The bathroom can now be stripped apart from the toilet roll holder and towel ring which were provided by the council when they did the bathroom last year.
Its not such a nice day today, a bit grey………and the wind is coolish.
OH could not find the pepper this lunch time, it was on the dining room table!!!! Think we are getting moving blindness…..LOL.
We went to the hospital OH has to go back in 12 months just for a check and they will discharge him.
We have done 3 trips with stuff today and the bed is being collected in the next half an hour, so we can use the bedroom to stack stuff.
The first 2 days I suffered badly with my back and legs, but a shower each night and a couple of paracetamol have sorted that……the back is fine now.
Both houses are in a stushie but by this time next week one at least should be ok…….(I hope)
Liver and bacon for supper with potato’s, cauli, calebrese and carrots. The last of the rhubarb and chocolate sponge, then I can wash the dish and take that over as well.
Next instalment tomorrow……………………..Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -

Bethebee - if we can't complain on here, where can we complain? You have been strong for your brothers, your children, your friends and your grandchildren. I have phenomenal admiration for you. Your daughter is so lucky to have you - I do hope some really good luck comes your way. You deserve it.
Zippychick - I think souffle potatoes sound an excellent way to go - thank you!
Elona - The sudacreme is going on in dollops. I shall look out for Metanium. I am a bit of a tizzy, because he is usually not too bad, a few spots and sore bits when teething (sorry, tmi teatime) and I am trying not to get too upset. It is getting better, or we would have been to the doctors, despite repeated instructions not to go to them with nappy rash. He is feeling well enough to drop hints about chocolate.
Mummysaver - thank you for your support. It was lovely weather here, and I felt well enough 'in myself' to have hopped on a bus but this dratted cold means I would have fallen over before I got to the bus stop. Definitely downgraded to a cold now, however
Well, I have been sticking mainly to the armchair OS stuff today after a very cursory swipe in the kitchen. I've enjoyed doing some knitting and I am trying to work out the best way to spend Easter. Dear heart is having such a bad time, I want to make sure he gets the most of the break, because I suspect it is not going to get better for him soon. We are both grateful that he has a job, but he is looking worse than I am. Which is hard.
I think that it may be trying to tackle the garden - get trid of the currently bubble wrapped rose and prune the buddliea. I have seeds to plant - which is new territory for me - and I need to try and get some of the weeds up. For a tiny yard, there seems to be a lot I want to do.
Now, even with my typing speed this is far more than five minutes, so I am off to cuddle little bear.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -

You didn't come across as harsh at all, good grief Zippy I don't think you realise how brilliant and strong you have been faced with so much to cope with. I think:A
Right again, DD1 doesn't buy bags/shoes etc. All money has gone on bills, car tax, petrol to get to work, DGD to school etc. I know you understand as you have been there, (paying bills/debts etc,) I saw here statements y/day. In fact I bought her last 2 prs of shoes (desperately needed) at Christmas. I/We pay for DGD's school trips, piano, violin lessons, and school uniforms and do a DDebit for pocket money.
Yes, I am so pleased that DD's can come and ask for advice,
Just wish it had been £15k's worth years ago.
Anyhoo, think I'll take your advice and go and have a drink, believe me it wont be tea. Thanks x
