I wakened up at this Gawd Awful hour [as I do] and unable to think of what to amuse myself whilst I'm feeling sleepy again (clean thoughts, you understand ) I decided to log on here and find this thread.

Well-bloody-done Lady_K. :T I'm chuffed tae bits for ye. I knew you could prove to them that you deserved it - sad really that we have to congratulate each other on getting what we're entitled to. :mad:

As I said before, and I'll say again; if you're disheartened by being turned down and ready to give up at the thought of an appeal etc, then you're genuine. As Lady_K has shown, fight it for all it's worth.

I was flabbergasted when I got the award and so quickly compared to others.

When I first applied I was fairly confident that I would get an award and stuck with doing my forms myself because I wanted it to come from me but when I got the full out refusal on both componants without even a medical I lost all confidence and really I cant tell you how close I was to giving up. But I tried to be strong and thought I had to go ahead with the reconsideration and give it everything I had because if I didnt I would never know.

I was expecting back another refusal or low award at the best and was already planning mentally for tribuneral but floored when I got a complete turn around It so proved to me that no one should give up if they can go from totally no award to full awards on both componants. Some of the decision makers do not read what is written and you have to force them to by keep pushing your case
