as far as I am aware when an award of HRC has been made there is no requirement to complete IB50 forms nor attend medicals.
Well done Lady K - I am THRILLED for you - just remember to get some advice before you complete your renewal forms when they come through !
well done !0 -
:jWell done Lady K, i am really pleased for you!
My award is still sinking in, so dont be suprised if it takes a while!!
Now go enjoy your award, and i would imagine with high rate care they cant expect you to fail the incapacity pca, surely?
Here's hoping.

Congratulations Lady_K. Sorry I haven't time now to re-read earlier posts, but if there is someone who cares for you for a substantial number of hours, off hand I think it is around 34+, they can now claim Carer's Allowance, now that you have been awarded Higher rate care DLA. Hope this helps.0

If i were you i would join the website
www.benefitsandwork.co.uk
It costs about £19 for the year but you get lost of info and help in filling in your form, and it helped me!
It points out areas that you might not realise you struggle with, and tell you to put things in for example...
I struggle to get upstairs to the loo,and it told me to put that I dont want a commode, as whilst i am able to i shuld be allowed to go to the loo, as the decision maker might decide that you dont need help to go upstairs to the loo as you could have a commode.
Hope thate helps, i would def reccomend that site!0 -
Rang local job centre to ask about ib50 form and if they know anything yet about the decision on that they said they dont deal with any of that and gave me atos number, I rang that and they just give out auto response saying if its about a form youve filled in contact your job centre or ring another number which I did, that was the job centre again who sent me back to my local job centre who gave me another 0845 number who also said they dont deal with Atos at all and know nothing. I informed them of me being awarded DLA and they were very uninterested, I asked if it will make any difference to my income support or incapacity and they said no. I said is it on my records that I'm now in receipt of DLA and they said yes so I guess they already know. If its all out of dwp hands now do Atos have the power to make me have a medicalThanx

It makes a huge difference to your IS - check www.entitledto.com for the exact figures, but at a rough guess :
Income support 25 or over - £64.30
+
Disablity Premium £27.50 (due to getting DLA)
+
Enhanced Disability Premium (due to get HRC) £12.60
+
Severe Disability Premium (due to getting Middle or High RC)as long as you meet certain criteria (eg no non dependents living with you over 18, or anyone else claiming CA for you) £50.35

Stop worrying! I know, easier said than done, but I think you deserve to give yourself a break... they haven't actually asked you to attend an assessment have they? in the event that they do then send them back a copy of your DLA award
