thought me and ian could stay friends, well we could have on his terms and conditions, eg nights out when it suits him, let him sleep over, told him no chance, and he told me he wont be bothering me again
feel like i been punched in stomach all over again
it hurts
Sorry to hear this, Shaz, but I think it shows his true colours doesn't it? Sounds as though he's only interested in himself really.
If I were you I would really start planning for the times when you are going to be by yourself. As geminilady said, plan some pamper evenings. Perhaps have a long bath and a face mask (some of them are gorgeous and make your skin feel really soft). Sit with a nice glass of something and some magazines or a dvd. You deserve some "me" time so indulge yourself. Perhaps you could consider an evening class doing something you've never had time to before?0 -
Good morning lovelies :hello:
Please excuse the briefness of this post - am at work, joy of joys, and got a lot to do this morning.
Just wanted to say welcome to Sandy and nice to see Gem posting. Pug in a bed - as has already been said - perhaps it's worth reviewing med levels with your doctor? Shaz - I know this is of no comfort to you right now, but I honestly think you've done the right thing. Your needs are important, you are important and anyone in a relationship with you needs to respect that. (((Big hugs)))
Beth - talk as much as you want xx People who like to sit in judgement of others behind the safe anonymity of an internet forum are pathetic; who the hell are they? Don't let them get to you hun xx. Can understand frustration re needing to eat bread until you have your biopsy, but it's a step in the right direction of getting you the right treatment and getting you well again, so it's relatively short term? And maybe you don't need to be eating stacks of it? Just enough so it registers? Just my thoughts anyway hun xx
Hope everyone else is doing ok today. I took one look outside this morning at 7am at the gloom and rain and wanted to pull the duvet back over my head!
Much love to all

Me too! I was so tired this morning that my alarm didn't wake me up. My daughter woke me up half an hour later but I was so tired I just wanted to go back to sleep! Roll on the spring and some sunny mornings!0 -
So many people don't understand depression and think you are just being self indulgent. You get that "pull yourself together" and "what have you got to be depressed about?" attitude. Perhaps you could say you are seeing your doctor because of stress and you don't want to talk about it?
This seems sensible, thank you.
I'm reluctant to tell them now - they know I have physical disabilities. Apprently, I'm faking these. They actually called me a liar on Saturday and pretty much said I am only disabled when it suits me. Er, right.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Would anyone mind if I joined in, I have said some stupid things on other threads and had some awful things said about me for no reason. I promise to behave in here.
I am feeling a bit lost at the moment and don't know where I fit in, either a lot of people have me on ignore or my posts are invisible:huh:
Hope it's ok.
Heya Sandy.
It's nice to see you here (obviously in a "nice to see you again", not a "nice you have depression way" lol).
I've been wondering how you are.:)2019 Wins

Thanks. There can be a lot of nastiness from some people on Discussion Time. I think it makes certain people feel big. I was discussing benefits on a certain thread and people were talking about how most people with depression were just attention seeking. Because I replied to this I then was accused of being an attention seeker too! So I said that if I kept quiet then the myths surrounding depression would just continue. If, however, I try to explain depression to people and show that it isn't "all in the mind" and you can't "pull yourself together etc" then Im accused of attention seeking! I said "I can't win can I?" I went offline for a few hours after that and didn't see what happened, but some people were starting to get nasty. When I logged on again later the thread had been deleted.0 -
How do you know when your depressed? And how do you know when someone is depressed? And not just down?0
-
I would say that if it is a feeling that passes in a day or so, it sounds like someone is down. If it is a prolonged feeling, then I would say that it's more likely to be depression.
You could google it to find out the symptoms of depression.
I would describe typical symptoms as waking early in the morning or spending alot of time sleeping, eating more/less than usual, feeling hopeless, struggling to get thru the day etc etc0 -
Thanks for the welcome.
Lady M good to see you again too, things haven't been great but I'm trying.
How are you?

Hi Vikki - thinking of my own experience I'd probably say that depression is more long-term. It tends to stay with you. Whereas feeling down is more short-term and perhaps connected to a specific event. After a little while, you feel more like yourself again. Whereas with depression, the feeling of 'normality', of feeling yourself again, doesn't seem to come back. If that makes sense? Altho saying that, in my experience too, there are good phases and bad phases to the depression, good days and bad days, but the overall sense of depression doesn't lift. Hope that answers you question if a bit rambling!
