I thought of a way to get it out of my system and cover over the chips in the paint. Bought a star shaped stencil this morning and going to pick up a couple of tester pots of paint in a darker colour than the way and stencil over the chips - it's cost a fortune for paint to cover the whole walls.
Even just the thought of getting that done is making me feel good, it's nice to achieve things. Makes you feel much less useless.
Amber what paint did you use and was the bookcase varnished? Could explain some of the stickyness you're having trouble with if there's something up with the paint or some varnish won't let it dry.
God it's moved from depression to diy!

Morning everyone :hello:
Amber - I didn't even know it was possible to use too much paint! That just goes to show the extent of my DIY knowledge!:o :rotfl: Maybe if you've had damp or humid weather down there that migth make it slow to dry?
I'm with you on the weather, plushy. The unrelenting cloud and rain is not my favourite either:rolleyes:
Better get on... take care and much love to all

We've got plenty of sunshine, wish I could sent you some over! Thinking of getting my iron levels checked out, I'm so sleepy the last few days. Or it could be the new meds, although after 6 weeks I should be used to them. Then again it could be that I'm not active enough ...
I used some acrylic paint (I think) and did sandpaper the bookshelf first (that's about as much as I know about DIY lol). It could have been varnished, it was pretty glossy.
Hey - I've got a solution to both our problems Plushy - you come over, get some sunshine, and sort out my bookshelf!~*Plushroom*~ wrote: »I thought of a way to get it out of my system and cover over the chips in the paint. I think I put too much paint on the brush - I only bought a small can and I ran out lol.0 -

Well good news on the weather front, sunshine is coming apparently - it'll be cold but the sun will be out in the next few days...of course that will probably change!Amber_Sunshine wrote: »We've got plenty of sunshine, wish I could sent you some over! Ah if it was a glossy bookshelf you'd need to give it a serious sand down to get the acrylic to adhere, I've missed spots myself when in a rush sanding and ended up with tacky patches that just will not dry.
I'm up for that! Though first I need to tackle my huge to do list I made yesterday...including finding the letter that tells me when I go to my New Deal appointment tomorrow...I fear I have recycled the letter. Damn obsessive cleaning!
Hope everyone is doing well today, hugs to one and all. I suppose I better get back to the letter search...joy!The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. Yes, that's bound to change lol but I'd take cold and bright over grey and wet any day. Good luck with the letter search - I always end up turning the house upside down to find stuff like that, but then again I am incredibly disorganised lol:o
Hugs to all, this month and next month are our busy period at work, but will try and pop back later
Much love to all,

Hey all
How has today been? I've been at work. Bit busy but better than hanging about waiting for dishes to come through. Things are slowing down and I'm dreading the after christmas lull because I wont get so many hours...
*big hugs* to everyone who reads this thread, whether you post or not!
Hello and *big hugs* to plushy, sazzy and Amber. Hope you've got your bookcase sorted out Amber. I like your idea with the stencils plushy, sounds like a good idea to try, I did something like that in my mums kitchen a few years ago, we painted it white then dipped a sponge (one of those natural ones that was all the rage then) in green and splodged the walls. Used about half what we would have used painting it green.
Hey LM, how did the anniversary go???
*big hugs* to anyone who needs one. My pets also send head rubs.....
