Thats lovely, Shaz. What a lovely present! Keep looking at it whenever you feel down to remind you of all the people who are thinking about you and wishing you well (and Ian's love too of course!:D)0 -
Hi guys!
How's us this morning? I have a sneaky feeling that as far as I'm concerned, it's going to turn out to be one of those days.
Still I shan't complain about it now, (or I'll have nothing to post about tomorrow!), suffice, to say that my Fur-iday is overflowing with things to do, all arranged by other people and which it seems, will require me being in two places at once. No problem - Tiffers can handle that!
I was actually alone with two men in my house for two hours yesterday!
Okay, so before sazzy gets the wedding planner out,, they were from the housing association to do repairs in the kitchen and they were both the wrong side of 60, but a girl can dream can't she? At the end of those two hours, they'd done all they could to resuscitate the units and came to the conclusion that nothing more could be done for them.
They said I needed a new kitchen.
I've been saying that since February.
In fact I've said it to each inspector at the FIVE kitchen inspections that I've had since then!
The guys were great and did all they could but said that they couldn't do any more to patch it up because they didn't make those units parts any more! They said the inspectors keep telling them to patch things up instead of replacing them due to money.
Now why would Tiffy be all upset about this, you may ask? After all, they have promised our small estate brand new kitchens in [STRIKE]2007[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]2009[/STRIKE], erm, now make that 2013!!!
Tiffy's upset because they have just fitted 2 new kitchens in houses in our little street, in between lettings when they were empty! They've got modern beech effect units and black speckled marble work surfaces, new flooring and they also redecorated the kitchens afterwards. Now as I'm already living in the house, aren't I worth the same expenditure, especially as cupboard doors have fallen on me?
So Tiffy is royally tiffed off. Surprisingly, -NOT!-, the inspector was unavailable by phone when I called so I have bypassed the Tiffy letter stage - trust me, you really don't want to get a Tiffy letter!- and I have sent a Tiffy email,
, informing said inspector that the trouble I'm having with unit doors falling down etc., is not due to bloody poltergheist activity and referring to the Health and Safety regs, I will be more than happy to take the issue to the Ombudsman and a solicitor if this isn't rectified very soon.
That's it - no more Ms. Nice Kitty!
Anyway, this fiasco has inspired the choice of today's offering...
Okay, I have to go now guys, but hopefully I'll be back later. So much to tell but it's hard to explain it when you're still going through it, iykwim?
Safe journeys and be kind to yourself.
Much Love,

Heya Shaz.
It's really sad that your finances would be worse if Ian moved in.:( He's been of great support to you and I think having him around the house would help you when you're at your lowest.
With the cuts, remember to keep them clean hun. *hugs* I know that probably sounds patronising but the last thing you need at the moment is for them to get infected.
As for the Christmas pressie, wow! I want a photo.Tehe.

Morning Shaz, LM and Tiff *big hugs* to you. Morning and *big hugs* also to everyone who reads the thread and needs one.
Oooh shaz what a lovely christmas present. Can we see a pic? *huge hugs* to you, please look after yourself.
Tiff I sympathise, we're having the same problems with our kitchen and our council! The joiner finally appeared yesterday to do a bit of measuring... well, thats what he said he was doing but he just looked at where I wanted the units and umm'd and ahhh'd. Love your cat pic as well :rotfl:. I feel like that sometimes.
LM, whats Scribblenauts? And how did the celebrations go?
I managed to get the corridor scrubbed at work yesterday morning, had a very easy night last night, and DH might be getting his old job back so I'm a happy cracker this morning.
*hugs* from PC and purry head rubs from Hannah and Lucy, hope today (cold as it is) is a good one for everyone.

Hey Poppy.
Scribblenauts is basically a game where to solve levels, you have to conjure up objects. There are over 20,000 different objects you can write down! And each one behaves differently.
It's really hard to explain but it looks awesome.
We haven't had our celebrations yet. We miscalculated and will be having them on 15th November. :rotfl:2019 Wins

Aw, well now we all need to see it you know that right?! I hope you're feeling a little better now - things are tough but you have us, ian and your lovely sparkly rock to keep you going!Tiffy's upset because they have just fitted 2 new kitchens in houses in our little street, in between lettings when they were empty! I think a Tiffy e-mail is a good idea (and maybe even a Tiffy phonecall), how silly do you get not sorting out someone's kitchen for so long. Hope you get the result you want, and if not send an army of moggies out to get things sortedLadyMorticia wrote: »Going out to get Scribblenauts for Nintendo DS today. So excited.

I had a look at that, reviews were pretty good for it but I'm still enjoying Soul Bubbles and screaming at another DS game that has !!!!ed me right off!
Hope everyone is doing well. Jobcentre review wasn't too bad, my advisor is a good laugh - did have to do a lot of trapsing back and forth as now I'm on New Deal I'm apparently entitled to a half price travelcard. Would have been nice if they hadn't told me to go back at 2:30pm to pick it up and then stuck me in the giro room with some angry swearing people for an hour...thank god for the security guard wwho kept badgering employees to get my card sorted...finally got it at 3:20pm  Why they told me 2:30 is beyond me and they took up most of my day out with that rubbish - I had made plans to do a little clothes shopping to update my wardrobe. That didn't really work out as planned.
So as for dealing with the break up, still feel exactly the same as I did earlier in the week. I guess I just didn't have any more tears to cry over the relationship as I'd used them up during the relationship. I feel good oddly, I think not having to look after someone who doesn't do the same for me has helped. And it's always good to not have to worry about what you're going to get blamed for next. I've ordered a few sim cards and will be changing my phone number so that he won't be able to change his mind and contact me, and also cut my hair and dyed it.
For some reason I always change my hair when there is a big life change - very grateful I paid attention all those years ago when I worked in the hairdressers as it meant I could chop my hair off myself. Was not in the mood for having to gossip with a hairdresser and pay out a fortune! But all is well there, it's shorter and a much nicer shade of blue.
Made a to-do list at the start of the week and am almost done with everything on it, the sense of accomplishment seems to be keeping my mood up right now. Hopefully that will last for a little while.
Big hugs to everyone on the thread, even the lurkers who I'm sure there must be.

Im not surprised you're not miffed about this. They can always find the money when they really want to can't they? I think its a case of the squeaky wheel gets the oil. In other words, if people complain and write letters and phone up etc (even write letters to the local media) then you never know this could give them the push to sort the other kitchens out too.
Hope everyone is ok.
Im supposed to be meeting an old friend for a meal at a little pub down the road. She is a lovely, kind person and we always meet there for a chat every now and then. Trouble is, she has emailed me to say the last time she went there her meal wasn't as nice as usual and so she wants to go to a place further away. Ive agreed but Im getting a bit anxious and upset about having to go to a different place. Its silly but its made me want to email her and tell her I can't go. I could tell her Im feeling low and she would understand but I don't want to let her down. I just want to go to our normal little pub - I don't care about the food.0
