Amber_Sunshine wrote: »Little Monkey, I have no wish to sound unwelcoming, and I'm sorry about your bipolar and phobia, but maybe you should try the other depression thread and see if it suits you better?(in other words fkuc off) We love our cat pictures, and it gives many of us a great deal of pleasure, and to be blunt I don't see why we should be denied that pleasure or avoid any mention of cats.(in other words you don't give a stuff about my illness)
You call us unwelcoming - well sometimes I don't read every page so I don't recall seeing your name - and cliquey - many of us have built up a rapport.(clique) I know we all get sensitive at times, such is the nature of depression, but please be aware that calling us selfish can be seen as offensive. You complain about Poppy's cat link, but then posted a picture that many of us had said was causing us problems. Consideration goes both ways.(your saying you can post cats and feel ok but i cant post pictures I like though) P.S. i said during my posts(HERE) that i would neverask anyone to stop posting pics of cats because i respect others, unlike what your saying, which is stop posting things that YOU don't like,or others for that matter
On an aside, have you sought help for your phobia? That might make your life easier, I wonder if hypotherapy would be worth a try.

i think i had depression once, years ago when my gf left for no good reason after 3 years. every thought, even every night was a dream about it, perpetuating the feeling. thought about 'it' for a long time, ways and means, and 1/2 tried a few but will to live was unfortunately too strong. i never called anyone, never told anyone, to this day no one knows but as this is serious i thought id post.
eventually (i mean around 2 years later) it got easier, like slowly sailing out of a thick dark fog and another year later i was ok again. such a slow, painful process but that was 8 years ago now, i laugh at myself now thinking why didnt i just snap out of it, thats what i would tell anyone else to do, but you just cant, but the knowledge that one day it will eventually be better, and then to feel it getting better, helps.Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000
current savings: 20,500 (target hit yippee!)
Debts: 8000 (student loan so doesnt count)
new target savings by Feb 2010: 30,0000 -
Little Monkey, I was not telling you to 'fkuc off'. You appear to be looking for reasons to be offended, and reading things into posts that aren't intended. Does this thread have to revolve around you because of your cat problem? I suggested the other depression thread as it seems to take a different angle and as far as I know, they're not cat obsessives like we are.
I'm sorry, I like to help people, but I don't have any more energy to give you.0 -

Hi Dave, thanks for posting. "Slowly sailing out of a thick, dark fog" - that struck me as a really good way of describing it. You can't see any way out at the time, but slowly but surely you do get there in the end. And it's amazing how looking back does shock you to think just how bad things really got. I know with me, I barely recognise the person I was, when things were at rock bottom. But it does get better.
Thanks for posting,

Oh, and Little Monkey, if you're so cat-phobic, why did you post this thread about cats?

Someone with your intellect would struggle to understand i'm afraid, its non of your business but while you have asked i shall try to explain.Like all phobia's there is a treatment that is an attempt to make you face your fear,i'm sure even you have seen that over the years.A bit like someone with a snake phobia or even agrophobia, basically you HAVE to expose yourself to the fear, slowly, one little step at a time,it might be looking at some pictures of the fear, things like that. That thread was me taking a first step. You don't know how long it took me to post that and that was after looking at the link by myself over a period of days.I wanted to post it because i was proud of how far i had gone, thats why i don't expect anyone to NOT post pics,it can help when i'm feeling strong.Sorry to disappoint your expectations.
p,s. its called Ailurophobia btw0 -

The focus is on getting better and enjoying life. It is that part that I don't think monkey is ready for. Actually if I am honest I am not convinced yet that monkey is not a troll. sorry if I am wrong.
Unfortunately not too many people post there as I think they like me have got better.
Thanks for that lovely welcome0 -
I can understand some predjudice as its unusual and some of you with depression will know what its like, thats what i find a little upsetting. You know what its like when people think depressions just an excuse for other things etc yet here you are doing exactly the same to me because you cannot understand:o0

Don't make me laugh. You have no idea about my intellect, my IQ or my experience and understanding of phobias. I certainly possess a superior understanding of grammar and spelling than you do, given that there are a minimum of 23 grammatical errors in the post below. Since you've got an smart*ss answer for everything, and are clearly a troll, you are now on ignore. Actually, I'm quite happy thank you, especially as you're giving me such a laugh. I don't need your help! You know absolutely nothing about me, and your amateur psychology is utterly flawed.little_monkey wrote: »Your last post says everything about YOU,a very insecure person who struggles to find a correct partner in life and blames everyone else when things go pear shaped,i hope you find peace one day,in your own mind that is.I don't dislike you or anything,i just wish i could help you through all your obvious problems, take care Amber,x0
