Put a 3 amp fuse in the plug and keep repacing with 3 amp when it blows, then say its cos the poor washer is overworked.

  not for 5 people, 1 each for showers and 2 towels for the lads to take to the gym.

    That's crazy! Gym+swimming+everyday towels, still = only one towels wash a week!

As for bedding 2/3 times a week!!

C'mon, when did you last hear of someone getting ill from their bedding/towels?!

Well,I dont know about you but I can't get 49 towels in one wash, nor do I have 49 towels,so its not feasible to do one wash:confused: and we like clean, dry, fluffy, towels.

I only wash bedding once a week though.

49 towels washed per week?! (I know it might be the same towel multiple times  )

No,not OCD just a reluctance to reuse damp towels picked up from a teenagers floor:eek:. In winter I do dry ours (mine and DH)on the radiator, and if I get to theirs in time they go on their radiators, but I still wash a load of towels most days.

You need to train them out of that.

Some days it works better than others. Do you have teenagers? they have a tendency to shower and run. I just like fresh towels.

I concur. Can't believe I'm typing this as if it's some major life skill, but when I was a kid, I had the nouse to think it might be a good idea to hang up a towel.

I only have one teenager. but he knows to put the towels on the rail so they can dry out. He does have his own bathroom though - and he's got his own fresh towel supply so he decides when he needs a clean one too.

I suspect we'd be fine with a water meter when he's gone to uni. :)

We are a family of four adults I do one load of white DD & DS both wear white shirts for work, one load of light coloureds, one load of darks possibly two, one load of dark underwear, usually one load of towels and kitchen tea towels sometimes two plus one or two loads of bedding per week....8 loads in total maximum. Our teens were trained from an early age to hang up towels to dry and not put jeans and stuff in the washing basket in lieu of hanging them back in the wardrobe after one wear.
