Would you say anything about lodgers excessive use of washing machine?

A tennant would be paying the bill for their electric.
Lodgers dont have the same rights as tennants, and anyway in a shared living situation its not about rights, its about harmony. Everyone has to adapt to each other and be aware of their actions on the other people, and pay their way, regardless of who is lodger and who is landlady.
If someone uses masses more electric they should pay a bigger slice of the bill, if they drink 3x as much milk they contribute more milk.0 -
7 towels a day? I make one last a couple of weeks if I leave it to dry properly.
I change towels ...two towels one or body one for hair, every three days. Plus there are bath mats etc.
I chnge bedding two-three times a week. Depending on how many of us in the bed and time of year.
There are all the clothes to be washed, and of course non weekly washing items (cushions/loose covers/any washable curttains/floor rugs etc). Which might not need washing often, but if you have a few things they can add up. Our bedroom floor rug however tend to make it in the wash avery few weeks, and the ones in the down stairs hall way once a week.
I don't think many weeks go by when I don't do at least a wash a day. Often more. Often several loads a day.
But I don't think even I managed an average of 8 loads a week when single0 -
How many normally in the bed Lostinrates?
I have to say bedlinen only changed once every six weeks
I had a lodger with the opposite problem, she didnt change the sheets (and they were my sheets) in the six mths she was here, I asked her for them after a while....... She left shortly afterwards....
However she had no problem putting the machine on for one or two items, fdrove me insane, I did ask if she would put her things in a basket and I would do a wash when I had enough, she didnt like that, and she never unloaded the machine either, it would stay in there for days, if I didnt unload it.Pawpurrs x0 -

How dirty are you?? :rotfl:
I have a shower every day and wash my (long) hair every other day but my towels dont get dirty, just damp, I hang them up and then they are fine for the next day
Similarly my bedding as I have a shower every day, my bedding doesnt exactly get dirty...
i thought this was a money saving website - you could save yourself a small fortune (and stress) by not washing things as often0 -

Not under the law, they aren't.
Anyway, it all sounds rather mean-spirited to me. On both sides.
And this thread reminds me of the Les Dawson sketch of two northern women gossiping over the backyard fence.0 -

Well, I ''work'' with dirt and animals (not paid for it though ), but that doesn't get on my towels because I'm clean b the time I pick up a towel...but even if I didn't,-
beds get sweaty, and that hardly romantic, and romantic beds keep us spending money in otherways. Towels harbour bacteria. Its not dirt, its that they make really good breeding grounds as they are 'damped' every day, I wet my hair everyday.

Actually under the law they are!
Lodgers do not have any where near as many rights as a tenant..
