Add a sprinkle of paprika to mayonnaise for a bit of extra spice.

    Hi Bobby

Thanks for that - that's super helpful.

I think that I may buy a big chicken this week, roast it on Sunday and then have left overs in the sandwiches for as long as it lasts.:j

    Thanks...

  • A bit of mustard in almost any sandwich cheers it up a bit IMHO :)

Try roast beef and mango chutney. If you use a lot of ham , don't buy the supermarket prepacked plastic stuff. Buy a ham joint (Tesco value one is excellent) boil it then slice it thinly with an electric knife. You can freeze the cooked ham slices. It works out a lot cheaper and tastes so much better.

One of my favourites is cheese, carrot and salad cream.
It's the only thing I ever use salad cream for - it just doesn't taste the same with mayo.

mmmm, I think I'll get some salad cream on the way home and have them for lunch tomorrow.!

I do this with a little sliced onion also. Used to be called Cheese Savory in the North East when I used to live there.

Sliced dates make a sweet and unusual sandwich filling, even better with a sliced banana added
