I'm boring with sandwiches - just mature Cheddar with or without Marmite or pickle. Or occasionally taramosalata on pitta. The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.0

One of the bizarre combinations which I think is brilliant is cheese, peanut butter and sambal, preferably toasted but that's not practical in work so uncooked is good too!My Doctor told me that "1 out of 3 people who start smoking will eventually die." The other two apparently became immortal.

Me and my hubby are sick of having the same sandwich fillings - cheese, ham, roast beef, tuna mayo etc. Has anybody got any ideas for anything more exciting? Plus, we try to avoid the reformed sandwich meat, so ham and beef can cost up to a £1 for a largeish slice!! My hubby has three rolls a day so he may as well eat out for how much it costs! I thought maybe marinating and cooking chicken breasts or something might work out cheaper. Has anybody any ideas? Has to be sandwiches really cos he is always out and about with work so can't heat up leftovers nad he's not mad on pasta!! Thanks!!!!!0

We are in the same predicament as you and have decided to buy a cheap roast chicken to cook on a Sunday and shred the meat for sandwiches for the rest of the week. In Sainsbury's you can get a chicken to roast for £2.99 or £3.99 for slightly larger one, so this works out much cheaper than buying sliced meat. You can also make stock/soup out of the bones to provide an evening meal.0
